MODULAR FOUNDATION SUPPORT SYSTEMS AND METHODS INCLUDING SHAFTS WITH INTERLOCKING TORQUE TRANSMITTING COUPLINGS
A modular foundation support system includes modular foundation support components including self-aligning and torque transmitting coupler features wherein a plurality of\elongated ribs are aligned with a plurality of elongated grooves to rotationally interlock the modular foundation support components to one another.
TOOTHED COMPONENT OPTIMIZATION FOR GAS TURBINE ENGINE
Methods of manufacturing toothed components for gas turbine engines are provided. The methods include forming a first tooth in the component with a top land, a bottom land, a side wall extending therebetween, and a fillet radius transitioning between the side wall and the bottom land, forming a second tooth in the component adjacent the first tooth, the second tooth having a top land, a bottom land, a side wall extending therebetween and facing the first tooth, and a fillet radius transitioning between the side wall and the bottom land, the bottom land of the second tooth extending toward the bottom land of the first tooth, wherein the bottom lands define a gable area of the component, and forming a stress relief feature in the gable area such that the stress relief feature reduces a stress concentration near the gable area during operation of the toothed component.
SPLINE CONNECTION STRUCTURE AND SPLINE SHAFT
The present disclosure relates to a spline connection structure in which a shaft portion having teeth with crowned tooth surfaces formed at equal intervals on an outer circumferential surface and a cylindrical portion having grooves into which the teeth of the shaft portion are fitted formed on an inner circumferential surface are connected, wherein two adjacent tooth surfaces facing each other are bent while maintaining a constant distance therebetween in a tooth width direction when viewed from a diameter direction of the shaft portion.
CRANK-OPERATED PACKER MECHANISM FOR AN AGRICULTURAL BALER
A crank-operated packer mechanism includes crank pins and crank arms assembled by a tapered spline connection. The connection includes tapered spline features on outer ends of the crank pins and in openings provided at outer ends of the crank arms, which interlock when the crank pins are inserted in the openings. The connection further includes a locking feature for locking the connection, such as a locking nut screwed onto a threaded outer end of the crank pins when inserted into the opening. Fixing of rotary bearings onto the crank pins is done by a fixing nut which at the same time serves as a disassembling aid for the spline connection. The crank arms are shaped in a way that deviates from a straight shape to such an extent that the crank shaft is statically balanced about its central rotation axis. Also a baler including the aforementioned packer mechanism.
Propeller shaft and production method for same
A low surface-roughness part is formed at a first tapered part, as a result, the roughness of an opening-edge of a groove part of an internal spline part that opens at the first tapered part is reduced, and surface pressure applied by the opening edge to a tooth of an external spline part can be reduced. As a result, the opening edge of the groove part of the internal spline part can be kept from digging into the tooth, and variation, between products, in the insertion load of a second shaft part can be suppressed.
Shaft-hub connection
A shaft-hub connection includes an alignment gearing with a plurality of dogs. The dogs comprise a contouring cross-section, which runs, at least partially, along a prolonged trochoid.

Inner spline with top land drainage hole
A spline coupling comprises a male spline member having male spline teeth and a female spline member having female spline teeth complementary to and engaged with the male spline teeth. One or more of the female spline teeth has a tooth height lesser than a tooth height of another one or more of the female spline teeth. The tooth height of the one or more of the female spline teeth is defined by a top land surface of the one or more of the female spline teeth. The tooth height of the other one or more of the female spline teeth is defined by a top land surface of the other one or more of the female spline teeth. A drainage hole in the top land surface of the one or more of the female spline teeth passes through the one or more of the female spline teeth.
Power transmission shaft
A power transmission shaft includes a metal shaft member, and a resin shaft member connected to the metal shaft member in an axial direction of the power transmission shaft. The resin shaft member is made of fiber reinforced plastic. The metal shaft member and the resin shaft member are joined to each other through a close-contact fitting portion between a male spline, which is formed in an outer surface of the metal shaft member, and a female spline formed by press-fitting the male spline into the resin shaft member. An edge is formed at a radially outer edge portion of a press-fitting-start end surface of the male spline of the metal shaft member.
