Torque tube coupler

A first embodiment of a torque tube coupler may include an outer body that includes a first abutting surface and a second abutting surface adjacent to the first abutting surface. Set screws may be inserted into one or more channels of the first abutting surface. Tightening the set screws may force the abutting surfaces away from each other and the outer body to press against an inner surface of a torque tube. Another embodiment of the torque tube coupler may include a central ring sized based on a size of a torque tube. The torque tube coupler may also include a set of fingers that extend away from a first side of the central ring and are shaped to flex radially outward. The torque tube coupler may include a core disposed within the set of fingers that, when drawn towards the central ring, causes the fingers to flex radially outwards.

A drive hub includes a body and lugs that extend radially from the body and are engageable with a primemover of a primary power source. The lugs have a fastening lug that includes a radially extending bore. A hybrid, single piece setscrew extends within the bore and has a hemispherical portion configured to apply pressure to engage the drive hub to a shaft of a secondary power source.

Shaft couplings for high tensile loads in ESP systems

A shaft coupling for connecting an upper shaft with a lower shaft within a pumping system is designed to handle a large tensile load between the upper and lower shafts. In some embodiments, the upper shaft includes a shaft ring groove and the coupling has a body and a first receiving chamber within the body that receives an end of the upper shaft. The coupling also includes an upper internal groove extending into the body from the first receiving chamber and an upper split ring that is configured to be compressed into a position occupying both the upper internal groove and the shaft ring groove of the upper shaft. Set screws compress the upper split ring into the shaft ring groove of the upper shaft. In another embodiment, the coupling includes a plurality of locking screws that extend through the body into corresponding lock screw grooves in the upper and lower shafts.

Connector assembly

A connector assembly to fasten two members. The connector assembly includes an elongate fastener with an end for insertion into one of the members and a transverse aperture having at least one countersunk surface with an apex substantially aligned coaxially with the transverse aperture. The connector assembly also includes a grub screw insertable into the other member along a transverse axis substantially at the predetermined spacing from the shaped end. The connector assembly further includes a nipple formed onto one of the grub screw, the nipple being placeable into the transverse aperture for movement down the countersunk surface towards the apex thereof. The fastener moves with respect to the other member and brings the two fastened members closer together. The connector assembly also includes a housing for positioning the grub screw into the transverse aperture of the fastener, the housing having opposing apertures to allow the fastener to pass therethrough.

Bracket assembly and systems

System for axially coupling an engine shaft to a drive shaft

A coupling system is configured to axially couple a motor shaft rotating in a motor housing to a gearbox shaft rotating in a gearbox housing. The coupling system has a set screw and a socket. The set screw couples the two housings together. The socket is configured to receive the set screw. The socket being configured to can slide in a first of the motor housing and the gearbox housing in a direction of a second of the motor housing and the gearbox housing under a thrust force of the set screw during tightening thereof, in order to press the socket against the second of the motor housing and the gearbox housing at a mating surface of the second of the motor housing and the gearbox housing, so as to eliminate any play between the second of the motor housing and the gearbox housing at the mating surface.

Quick-release adapter
10774865 · 2020-09-15 · ·

A quick-release adapter consists of a top unit and a base unit. The top unit has a cylindrical hub with multiple lobes extending radially outward from the hub. The lobes each have an inclined upper surface and a flat, horizontal lower surface. The base unit has a cavity that is sized and shaped to match the lower portion of the top unit, with multiple lobe-shaped openings and side walls with inclined upper surfaces that match the incline of the upper surfaces of the lobes. A detent plunger protrudes through the lower surface of the cavity at a location that is 45 offset from the center of one of the lobe-shaped openings. In operation, the top unit is inserted into the base unit and rotated until the detent plunger engages the recess in the lower surface of one of the lobes. This locks the top unit from further rotation.
