Cutting insert and indexable rotary cutting tool

A cutting insert includes a cutting edge having an involute-curve approximate shape. A cutting edge is formed so as to wholly take on a first curved shape with a first curvature radius when the cutting insert is viewed from the end surface, and is formed so that a large part of the cutting edge takes on a second curved shape with a second curvature radius when the cutting insert is viewed from the side surface.

Side milling cutter for slot cutting

A side milling cutter for slot cutting is provided whose vibration can be damped even in cases where a vibration mode of the cutter generates plural nodes in a cutting part. A side milling cutter for slot cutting of the present invention includes a disc-shaped cutter and a plurality of cartridges as cutting edges provided at a predefined interval in a circumferential direction along an outer circumference of the disc-shaped cutter. The disc-shaped cutter cuts a predefined slot on a workpiece using the cartridges by circumferentially rotating. The disc-shaped cutter internally includes a plurality of vibration damping structures in the circumferential direction on a disk surface of the disc-shaped cutter.

The present invention concerns a rotary cutting tool (1) with a cylindrical supporting spindle (2) and several individual blades (3) with essentially radial cutting edges, helically ground and set at regular intervals on the outer surface of the spindle, each blade (3) having a rectilinear base (4) which inserts into a slot (5) of the same shape as said base, each individual blade (3) being mechanically fixed to the spindle (2), characterized in that it also comprises two covers (8, 9) fixed to the respective bases (8, 9) of the spindle (2) so as to reinforce the fixing of the blades (3).

Insert for slot milling

The present invention relates to an insert for slot milling, and more specifically, to an insert for slot milling which can smoothly form a front end surface of a concave portion of a slot formed at a cutting target, and provides a safe use thereof by preventing the erroneous installation of cutting inserts coupled with insert-installation seats on both sides of a milling cutter body to prevent damage of the cutting inserts and the milling cutter. To this end, the present invention is characterized in that the plurality of cutting inserts are provided around the slot milling cutter body, one of two cutting inserts protrudes with respect to one side of the milling cutter body and the other protrudes with respect to the opposite side of the milling cutter body, and two cutting inserts are formed with different structures to prevent the erroneous installation thereof on the insert-installation seats prepared on both sides of the milling cutter body.

Internal milling cutter

An internal milling cutter for producing a recess terminating in a radius in a workpiece, in particular for milling a crankshaft, comprises a tool holder having interchangeable cutting inserts detachably attached thereto. For the production of the radius, a plurality of first interchangeable cutting inserts are provided, which are arranged one after another in the direction of cut and have cutting edges which produce complementary portions of the radius, wherein the first interchangeable cutting inserts for producing the radius are identically configured.
