Machine tool
A machine tool (1) includes a spindle (32) supported on a support surface (37a) of a support body (37) with such an orientation that the longitudinal axis of the spindle extends along the support surface (37a). The spindle (32) is movable in a vertical direction that is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the spindle (32). The support body (37) is provided with a ventilation hole (80) extending through the support body (37) between the support surface (37a) and a surface (37b) facing in the direction opposite to the support surface (37a), to open toward the spindle (32).
Machine tool hand
Provided is a machine tool hand including a body portion that is mounted so as to be attachable to and detachable from a spindle of a machine tool, and that is provided with a flow path connected to a coolant-liquid supply path formed in the spindle; and two or more hand members that are attached to the body portion such that at least one of the hand members is pivotable about a prescribed axis, and that are capable of gripping an object therebetween by being closed. The flow path is provided with discharge ports via which a coolant liquid supplied from the coolant-liquid supply path is discharged toward surfaces of the hand members that are exposed to an outside, and a pressure of the coolant liquid causes an opening operation or a closing operation of the hand members.
Machining Unit for a Machine Tool and Machine Tool Having Such a Machining Unit
A machining unit for a machine tool includes a carrier head base, which on its rear side includes a carriage. The carriage can be coupled to axis guides and is longitudinally displaceable. The machining unit further includes a spindle carrier head held pivotably on the carrier head base. The spindle carrier head has a spindle with a tool holder. The carrier head base is provided with a damping unit. The disclosed machining unit provides increased precision of a machine tool. The machining unit may be incorporated in a machine tool.
Machine tool
Provided is a machine tool (1) which is capable of measuring machining accuracy of a workpiece (W) with high accuracy and enables the time required from machining to measurement of machining accuracy to be greatly reduced. The machine tool (1) machining a workpiece (W) while moving a tool and the workpiece (W) relative to each other includes a cover (2) separating from outside a machining area for machining the workpiece (W) therein, and temperature adjusting means (30) used in machining of the workpiece (W) to adjust an ambient temperature of the machining area.
Spindle device for machine tool
A spindle device of a machine tool is provided with: a rear-side bearing and front-side bearings which rotatably support a spindle with respect to a housing; a built-in motor which is disposed around the spindle between the front-side bearings and the rear-side bearing; heat pipes which are embedded in the spindle and which transmit heat between the central part and the rear-end part of the spindle; a plurality of plate-like inner fins which are affixed to a rear part of the spindle that protrudes rearward of the rear-side bearing and which extend perpendicularly with respect to the rotation axis of the spindle; and a plurality of plate-like outer fins which are affixed to the housing and which are disposed between the plurality of inner fins in such a manner as not to contact the inner fins.
MATERIAL SUPPORT SYSTEMS, MATERIAL SUPPORT STRUCTURES, AND RELATED METHODS
A core support system includes a support structure. The support structure includes a frame and a support member having a saturatable engagement layer disposed over the frame. A method of machining a core material incudes applying a fluid to an engagement layer of a support structure and saturating the engagement layer with the fluid, disposing a core material on the engagement layer, causing the fluid to freeze to secure to the core material to the support structure, machining the core material, melting the frozen fluid to release the core material from the support structure, and removing the core material from the engagement layer.
Processing apparatus
A processing apparatus includes a processing unit, a control unit, and a temperature detecting unit. The processing unit includes a cutting blade and a spindle assembly, the spindle assembly including a spindle having the cutting blade mounted on a distal end of the spindle and a spindle housing through which the spindle is inserted. A cooling fluid passage is formed in the spindle housing, the cooling fluid passage cooling the spindle assembly, and having one end connected to a cooling fluid supply source and having another end communicating with a cooling fluid outlet of the spindle housing. The temperature detecting unit detects the temperature of the spindle housing. The control unit determines whether a state of cooling of the spindle assembly is normal or abnormal on the basis of the temperature detected by the temperature detecting unit.
