LIGHTWEIGHT, BREATHABLE, WATERPROOF, SOFT SHELL COMPOSITE APPAREL AND TECHNICAL ALPINE APPAREL
20220380952 · 2022-12-01 ·

The apparel is constructed from various combinations of layers of materials with moisture transfer properties. A first liner of moisture transfer fabrics abuts a second layer of structural material such as open-cell foam. The second layer can abut a breathable membrane and/or an insulating material. Finally, carefully selected outer fabric completes the combination to provide apparel with improved performance characteristics. The outer fabrics are treated in various ways to enhance performance.

According to one embodiment, a halogen free roof system is described. The roof system includes a structural deck that is positioned above joists or other support members. Polyisocyanurate foam insulation is positioned atop the structural deck. The polyisocyanurate foam insulation has an isocyanate index greater than 200 and includes a polyisocyanurate core having a halogen free fire retardant. A water proof membrane is positioned atop the polyisocyanurate foam insulation. The polyisocyanurate core is able to form a sufficiently stable char when exposed to flame conditions such that the polyisocyanurate core is able to pass the ASTM E-84 test.

In an embodiment, a hybrid structure having suspension quality, comprises a core member having an outer surface, a reducible-volume layer associated with the outer surface of the core member and having a reducible volume at least at a number of regions thereof, and a covering layer having an exterior and an interior surface and connected to the core member via the reducible-volume layer by a connection arrangement.

Composite film having barrier properties for use as in-mold labels, article with in-mold labels, and methods of making same

Barrier films, in-mold label formed from barrier films, and containers incorporating in-mold labels with barrier properties. Films according to embodiments of the invention include multi-layer or composite films that include one or more layers of a barrier material. The films can be used to form labels in standard in-mold labeling processes such that standard robotics, molds, and materials can be used. Preferably, the film can seal on itself such that an overlap seam can be made. The film has adequate desired barrier properties, i.e. water vapor, oxygen, light, aroma, and/or flavor retention barriers depending on the application, such as packaging of consumable products.

4D contrast enhanced computed tomography (CT)

A method includes performing a contrast enhanced computed tomography (CT) scan of tissue of interest of a subject, with an imaging system having a radiation source and a detector array, in which a peak contrast enhancement of the tissue of interest, a full range of motion of the tissue of interest, and an entire volume of interest of the tissue of interest are concurrently imaged during a single rotation of the radiation source and the detector array of the imaging system over an entire or a predetermined sub-portion of a breathing cycle.

Flexible film composition for heat seals and container with same

The present disclosure is directed to compositions and film structures suitable for heat seal production. The heat sealable flexible film structure includes: a layer (A) comprising a propylene-based plastomer or elastomer (PBPE) and a low density polyethylene; a layer (B), adjacent to layer (A), comprising at least 50 percent by weight of the layer (B) of an ethylene-based polymer; and an outermost layer (C) comprising a material having a melting point greater than 140 C. Weight percents are based on the total weight of the respective layer. The heat sealable flexible film structure is used to make a flexible container (10) having one or more heat seals (12). The heat seal (12) can be a frangible heat seal, a hard heat seal, or a combination thereof.
