EROSION RESISTANT COATINGS
An erosion resistant article such as rotor blades for helicopters and wind turbines having the leading edge surface protected from damage from high speed impingement of rain or sand with a protective coating formed from specific polyurethane or polyurea coating having a defined set of minimum physical properties where the protective coating can be applied as a liquid coating and cured in place or as a preformed complementary shaped covering to protect the leading edge against erosion damage in service.
Hyperbranched polyesters in printing inks
The invention relates to multilayer materials for producing packaging comprising at least two films and also a layer which is printed with a packaging printing ink, said packaging printing ink comprising a certain hyperbranched polyester containing functional groups. The invention further relates to a packaging printing ink which comprises a certain hyperbranched polyester containing functional groups, and to the use of said printing ink for producing multilayer materials.
Sealant composition
The instant invention provides a polyolefin composition suitable for sealant applications, sealant compositions, method of producing the same, and films and multilayer structures made therefrom. The polyolefin composition suitable for sealant applications according to the present invention comprises: an ethylene/α-olefin interpolymer composition having a Comonomer Distribution Constant (CDC) in the range of from 40 to 110, vinyl unsaturation of less than 0.1 vinyls per one thousand carbon atoms present in the backbone of the ethylene-based polymer composition; a zero shear viscosity ratio (ZSVR) in the range of from 1.01 to 2.0; a density in the range of from 0.908 to 0.922 g/cm.sup.3, a melt index (I.sub.2 at 190° C./2.16 kg) in the range of from 0.5 to 5.0 g/10 minutes, a molecular weight distribution (defined as the weight average molecular weight divided by the number average molecular weight, M.sub.w/M.sub.n) in the range of from 2.0 to 4.0, and tan delta at 0.1 radian/second, determined at 190° C., in the range of from 5 to 50.
CROSS-LINKED POLYMERS AND THEIR USE IN PACKAGING FILMS AND INJECTION MOLDED ARTICLES
Provided are novel cross-linked polymers and their use in various materials, including packaging films and injection molded articles. These polymers, which comprise certain hydroxyl-containing crosslinking compounds, as well as optionally adjuvants, show improved creep resistance when compared to conventional ethylene acrylic or methacrylic acid copolymers and their ionomers.
Rotomoulded articles prepared from a blend of polyethylene powders
The present invention discloses the use of a dry blend comprising a polyethylene resin and a functionalized polyolefin or ionomer in a composition with a thermoplastic resin in order to produce a layer that provides adhesion, fire resistance and low permeation rate in a multi layer rotomolded article.
Ultra violet light resistant laminate, and process of manufacturing the same
The present disclosure relates to a laminate comprising: an outer polyethylene layer comprises at least 10% on the weight of polyethylene, a UV radiation blocking agent or a chromophore; a barrier layer with at least 15%-50% of an aromatic polyamide; and a polyethylene sealant layer. The Ultra Violet radiation resistant laminate is an opaque laminate or a transparent laminate. The outer polyethylene layer and the barrier layer with at least one aromatic polyamide is a multilayer film, preferably three layer film. The present disclosure also relates to a process for the preparation of the laminate.
Diecut, in particular for permanently closing holes
Diecuts are configured for permanent closing of holes and have a carrier comprising an assembly of at least two polymeric films. An upper film of the at least two polymeric films has a basis weight of at least 1.0 kg/m.sup.2 and a lower film of the at least two polymeric films consisting of at least two layers, wherein a first layer is in the form of a polymeric film and faces the upper film, and a second layer is in the form of a functional layer with a side of the lower film, facing away from the upper film, bears an applied adhesive composition.
Printable protective layer
Disclosed is a multilayer film comprising a first surface layer comprising a cross-linked, partially neutralized copolymer of ethylene and one or more ,-unsaturated C.sub.3 to C.sub.8 carboxylic acid, and a second surface layer comprising a polyamide; a use of such multilayer film for, for example, decorating a substrate such as for example a ski, snowboard or skate board; as well as a ski comprising such coextruded multilayer film. Also disclosed is a process for decorating a substrate comprising coextruding a multilayer film comprising the first surface layer and the second surface layer comprising a polyamide; irradiating the coextruded multilayer film to cross-link the film; printing a decorative element on the second surface layer comprising a polyamide; cutting the multilayer film; contacting the second surface layer of the multilayer film with a surface to be decorated on a substrate; laminating, e.g., by heat, the multilayer film to the surface to be decorated.
