Coating composition
A barrier coating composition may include an alcohol-based binder and an inorganic particulate. The barrier coating composition may be used in various ways, including in paper products including the barrier composition, methods of preparing the paper products, articles, particularly food grade packaging formed from the paper products, and packaged products, particularly packaged foodstuffs including the packaging.
Composition and recording sheet with improved optical properties
A composition is provided, which comprises a water-soluble salt of a divalent metal; a complexing agent having an affinity for the divalent metal; and an optical brightening agent. Methods of using the composition, and recording sheets which include the composition, are also disclosed.
Anti-sagging gypsum product and a method to manufacture
The present invention provides a composition, a gypsum board and their preparation method and the use of ascorbic acid as an anti-sagging additive in a gypsum board. Said gypsum board comprises set gypsum prepared from the composition; while said composition comprises hemi-hydrate gypsum, water and a compound comprising ##STR00001##
group and no carboxylate groups. The set gypsum prepared from the said composition shows better anti-sagging or deformation resisting property. The gypsum board of the present invention is hardly distorted and has stronger stability even in the condition of high humidity, thus improve the quality of the gypsum board to meet the demands of the customer.
Coating and binder compositions for gypsum boards
An adhesive binder composition for adhering a paper sheet to a gypsum article with a gypsum layer having at least one paper sheet on a major surface thereof. The adhesive binder composition includes a polymeric adhesive and at least one surfactant. The adhesive binder composition resides at a boundary between the gypsum layer and the paper sheet.
Antimicrobial packaging material
A packaging material includes an antimicrobial agent adhered to a substrate. The antimicrobial agent can include copper, and the packaging material can include cellulose. The substrate can be paperboard, and the copper can be a copper salt, such as copper sulfate. The packaging material may be provided by causing adherence between the substrate and the antimicrobial agent, such as by coating the substrate with the antimicrobial agent. Then, the packaging material may be cut into sheets. The sheets may be formed into cartons or other suitable packages.
(Meth)acrylic comb polymer containing a (meth)acrylic ester as a dispersing and anti-defoaming agent in an aqueous suspension of calcium sulfate hemihydrate
This invention relates to the use, in a foamy aqueous suspension of calcium sulfate hemihydrate, as an agent having the dual function of being a dispersing agent and an anti-defoaming agent, of a comb polymer made up of (meth)acrylic acid, a monomer which is an alcoxy- or hydroxy-polyalkylene glycol, and an ester of (meth)acrylic acid. It also relates to the aqueous suspensions thereby formed, and the plasterboard manufactured from 2 sheets of paper containing a body resulting from the drying of said suspensions.
Coating Composition
A barrier coating composition may include an alcohol-based binder; and an inorganic particulate, wherein mineral oil transmission through the barrier coating is such that the reduction in measured IR intensity at 2920 cm.sup.1 is less than 1.0%, as determined by ATR-FTIR spectroscopy.
Gypsum based formulations
The formulation for making plasterboard with paper cover sheets comprises finely divided gypsum, a minor amount by weight of starch and, as crosslinking agent for the starch, a tri-functional reactive s-triazine having substituents at positions 2, 4 and 6 of the triazine ring which are reactive with the starch. A preferred crosslinking agent is 2,4,6-trichloro-s-triazine, which is preferably partially reacted with the starch before further reaction with the paper cover sheets for the plaster board.
Aqueous glyoxyl-based insolubilizer composition for the surface treatment of paper and cardboard
The invention relates to an aqueous insolubilizer composition intended for the surface treatment of paper and cardboard, comprising a mixture composed of glyoxal and of at least one alkali metal orthophosphate, and also its use.
RECORDING SHEET WITH IMPROVED IMAGE DRY TIME
This invention is directed to a recording sheet having improved image dry time for use in printing comprising a substrate having in contact with at least one surface thereof one or more water soluble divalent metal salts, preferably admixed with one or more starches, to process of forming such recording sheet, to a method of generating one or more image(s) on said recording sheet in a printing process and to a recording sheet having one or more images on a surface thereof.
