Pants with rip-stop and mechanical stretch
Rip-stop pants include waist and leg portions formed of ripstop fabric having synthetic mechanical-stretch filament yarns interwoven into spun, staple yarns in a ripstop pattern.
Bicomponent spandex
An elastic multiple component fiber comprising a cross-section, wherein at least a first region of said cross-section comprises a polyurethaneurea composition; and comprising a second region.
Medical constructs including tubes and collagen fibers
Medical constructs with collagen fibers and gelatin and related collagen fibers. The collagen fibers can be derived from extruded soluble dermal collagen and can include a gelatin film attached to the at least one collagen fiber. The gelatin film can include one or more minerals and has a gelatin concentration of between about 0.1% to about 40% weight per volume.
Insulated radiant barriers in apparel
Fabrics made for apparel, tents, sleeping bags and the like, in various composites, constructed such that a combination of substrate layers and insulation layers is configured to provide improved thermal insulation. The fabric composites are constructed to form a radiant barrier against heat loss via radiation and via conduction from a body.
Polyamide fiber and airbag fabric
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a polyamide fiber from which a fabric appropriate for use in airbags is obtainable, and which exhibits weave-loosening prevention properties after weaving thereof, and excellent mechanical properties. This polyamide fiber is characterized by having; a total fiber density of 100-700 dtex; a tensile strength of 8.0-11.5 cN/dtex; a boiling-water shrinkage of 4.0-11.0%; a slack recovery rate (A) represented by formula (1) after a fixed-length heat treatment of 0-4.0%; and a tightening index (F) represented by formula (2) of 3.8 or higher. A=[(Ta−Tb)/Ta]×100 (1) (In formula (1), Ta represents the amount of slack immediately after heat treatment, and Tb represents the amount of slack at the time of stabilization after heat treatment.) F=A+0.35×B (2) (In formula (2), A represents the slack recovery rate after the fixed-length heat treatment, and B represents the boiling-water shrinkage rate.)
Flexible sheet, method of manufacturing said sheet and applications thereof
The invention relates to a flexible sheet comprising (i) a woven fabric comprising yarns containing polyethylene fibers; and (ii) a plastomer layer adhered to at least one surface of said woven fabric wherein said plastomer is a semi-crystalline copolymer of ethylene or propylene and one or more C2 to C12 α-olefin co-monomers and wherein said plastomer having a density as measured according to ISO1183 of between 870 and 930 kg/m3, wherein the flexible sheet has a shrinkage of at most 1.9%.
COATED BASE FABRIC FOR AIRBAG AND AIRBAG INCLUDING SAME
The present invention addresses the problem of providing: a coated fabric for airbags that is less likely to have yarn slippage after being sewn, and that can also be compactly stored; and an airbag using the coated fabric. As means for achieving this object, a coated fabric for airbags that has a crimp ratio of 12% or more in the warp direction and a crimp ratio of 6% or less in the weft direction is provided.
Rip-stop fabric with mechanical stretch fibers
Rip-stop pants include waist and leg portions formed of ripstop fabric having synthetic mechanical-stretch filament yarns interwoven into spun, staple yarns in a ripstop pattern.
Multi-component combination yarn system for moisture management in textiles and system for producing same
The invention provides a thermal control combination yarn system including a first plurality of the yarns within the system including microdenier or almost microdenier hydrophobic yarns, such as, for example, polypropylene (PP) and a second plurality of the yarns including less hydrophobic ultra microfibers (UMF), wherein the first plurality of yarns is in direct contact with the second plurality of yarns. The yarn system can include from 97% yarns made of a microdenier or almost microdenier hydrophobic material and 3% yarns made of a less hydrophobic ultra microfibers (UMF) material to 97% yarns made of the less hydrophobic ultra microfibers material and 3% yarns made of a microdenier or almost microdenier hydrophobic material.
Protective mid-cover textiles
A new class of protective fabrics having good ballistic and fragmentary protection also provide wearable drape, softness, and moisture transport, as well as good UV and abrasion resistance and color acceptance, making them comfortable to wear as garment fabrics. The protective fabrics are constructed from yarns having at least 20% ballistic fibers with greater than 12 gpd tenacity. A combined cover factor of between 55% and 80% avoids added stiffness due to yarn distortion at the crossing points. In embodiments, a long-float weave such as twill or satin with reduced crossing point density improves the hand of the fabric, and in some embodiments provides a different character on each face so that a predominantly staple fabric face is in contact with skin of a user, thereby providing better wearing comfort than a plain weave.
