Acceleration device for vehicle

A pedal-side rotating member is composed of a boss portion rotatably supported by a pedal shaft, a spring holding portion for holding one end of a return spring, a stopper arm being operatively in contact with an inner wall surface of a supporting body, and a mechanically-weaker portion, wherein the boss portion, the spring holding portion, the stopper arm and the mechanically-weaker portion are integrally formed as one unit. The spring holding portion is so configured as to be broken away from the boss portion at the mechanically-weaker portion, if an acting force larger than a predetermined value is applied to the stopper arm when the rotating member is rotated in a direction to an acceleration fully-closed position. A broken piece is held at a position inside of the supporting body, so that rotation of the boss portion is not adversely affected by the broken piece.

Vehicle pedal with index assembly for contacting sensor

A vehicle pedal comprising a housing for a pedal arm with a drum, a rotor coupled to the drum and including a contractor that slides against a strip of resistive material in the housing, and an assembly for setting and locking the index position of the rotor. In one embodiment, the rotor extends through a window that is defined in the housing and limits the movement of the rotor during the index setting operation. In one embodiment, a plastic pin that is either separate from or unitary with the rotor is fitted into a slot defined in the drum. In another embodiment, a potting material is deposited and cured in the slot in the drum for locking the pin in the slot. In another embodiment, the pin is unitary with the drum of the pedal arm and is press-fitted into a slot in the rotor. In a further embodiment, the drum and rotor include respective plates and the pin is a clip that locks the plates together.

Ergonomically symmetric pedal control system

An industrial symmetric pedal control system is provided which allows for ergonomically favorable operation by paired reciprocal control pedals which mirror an operator's right and left limbs. The reciprocal mirror control pedals allow operation of the same predetermined function within designated machinery by either the left or right foot of an operator, thus reducing fatigue while maintaining proper position at a particular workstation. Also included in the system is an ergonomically designed floor mat to provide the operator with more comfort and less fatigue while operating machinery.

A rotation detection device for detection of rotation of a vehicle pedal (2) around an axis of rotation, comprising a movable first part, which accompanies the rotational motion of the pedal, a stationary second part, a magnetic field sensing component arranged in the first or in the second part and a magnetic element arranged in that part of the first or the second part that does not comprise the magnetic field sensing component when the first and the second part are moving in relation to each other. The first part comprises a base part and at least one arm protruding from the base part, where at least one arm at least partly surrounds the second part.

An accelerator pedal apparatus includes a pedal arm which includes an accelerator pedal; a housing which supports the pedal arm between a rest position and a maximum depression position as being rotatable around a predetermined swing axis line; a first return spring which exerts urging force to the pedal arm to return toward the rest position; and a reaction force adding mechanism which adds reaction force opposed to tread force of the accelerator pedal. The reaction force adding mechanism includes a movable member movably arranged against the housing while receiving reaction force of the first return spring, a reaction force spring arranged between the movable member and the pedal arm to be capable of generating reaction force against the tread force, and a lock member capable of locking the movable member not to be movable at desired timing.

Shaftless vehicle pedal with contacting position sensor
09632525 · 2017-04-25 · ·

A vehicle pedal with a contacting position sensor. The pedal includes a housing with an interior housing wall that divides the housing into first and second interior housing chambers. The drum of the pedal arm is located in the first interior housing chamber and the sensor rotor is located in the second interior housing chamber. First and second housing side covers cover the first and second interior housing chambers respectively. The drum is mounted on and supported by the interior housing wall and the first housing cover for rotation of the drum in the first interior housing chamber relative to the pedal housing. A retainer with a pin and a clip extend through respective through-holes in the rotor and into respective slots in the drum and the clip engages against an interior shoulder in the drum for locking the rotor on the drum.

Accelerator apparatus

A pedal spring urges a pedal spring receiving portion to rotate a manipulation member in an accelerator closing direction. The pedal spring has an end portion that contacts a first contact surface of a front segment. A hysteresis spring urges a hysteresis spring receiving portion, which is engaged with the manipulation member, in the accelerator closing direction. The hysteresis spring has an end portion that contacts a second contact surface of the front segment. A step surface is formed between the first contact surface and the second contact surface to limit movement of the end portion of the hysteresis spring.
