Weight material dispensing and cutting system

An apparatus includes a receiving module, a conversion module, first and second rollers, a motor, and a cutting head. The receiving module receives a desired weight value. The conversion module converts the desired weight value to a first length of wheel weight material based on a linear density of the wheel weight material. The first and second rollers engage first and second opposing sides of a continuous strip of the wheel weight material. The linear density of the wheel weight material is approximately constant along the continuous strip. The motor directly drives the first roller based on the first length. The cutting head is selectively actuated to cut the wheel weight material.

Method and device for disposing of a slug produced in a hole punching operation on a hollow profile

A method for disposing of a slug produced in a hole punching operation on a hollow profile is provided. The method includes the steps of providing a hollow profile; cutting at least one predeterminable hole or slug contour path into the hollow profile by means of a cutting device; leaving a residual web of the hole or slug contour path; moving a receiving device into the hollow profile; moving a punch from a first position into a residual-web-removing second position in such a way that the slug thereby produced is received by the receiving device; and moving the receiving device out of the hollow profile.

Verifying calibration points against mark lines on workpiece surfaces

Methods for verifying calibration points against mark lines on workpiece surfaces are disclosed. Other embodiments including related systems are also disclosed. A material removal component may precisely remove extraneous material from a workpiece when calibration points of the material removal component along a predetermined trajectory are aligned with a mark line upon a marked surface of a workpiece. The marked surface of the workpiece may be disposed opposite of the material removal component. By employing an optical device aligned with the material removal component, calibration points may determined along the marked surface of the workpiece and verified against the mark line. In this manner, the extraneous material may be efficiently removed while minimizing rework and/or destruction of the workpiece.

Weight material dispensing and cutting system

An apparatus includes at least one module that receives a desired weight value to correct an imbalance of a wheel/tire assembly and converts the desired weight value to a corresponding weight amount of a wheel weight material; a roller disposed so as to be on a first side of the wheel weight material, a contact surface disposed so as to be on an opposing side of the wheel weight material, a forcing element that compresses the wheel weight material between the roller and the contact surface, a motor that drives the roller according to the weight amount, a blade selectively actuated to separate the weight amount from the wheel weight material, and either (i) a device that selectively adds a witness mark on the wheel weight material, and/or (ii) a diverter that selectively diverts the separated weight amount to a first location or a second location.
