    Abstract

    A locating system for finding a lost or misplaced baby bottle, sippy cup, or other children's drinkware. The locating system comprises a sleeve component configured to partially encapsulate the baby bottle or sippy cup. An alerting component is positional and securable within an external pouch in the sleeve component. The alerting component comprises a location indicator configured to emit a signal indicating a location of the baby bottle or sippy cup. The signal may be audible, visual, or vibratory. The alerting component is wirelessly activatable by a remote controller configured to select the desired signal and a volume of the signal.

    Claims

    1. A locating system for indicating a position of a baby bottle, the locating system comprising: a sleeve component comprising an external pouch, the sleeve component configured to partially encapsulate the baby bottle; an alerting component comprising a location indicator, the alerting component removably insertable within the external pouch; and a remote controller configured to wirelessly activate the alerting component.

    2. The locating system of claim 1, wherein the sleeve component is elastic.

    3. The locating system of claim 1, wherein the sleeve component further comprises at least one exterior indicia.

    4. The locating system of claim 1, wherein the alerting component is configured to emit an audible alert.

    5. The locating system of claim 1, wherein the alerting component is configured to emit a visual alert.

    6. The locating system of claim 1, wherein the alerting component is configured to emit a vibratory alert.

    7. The locating system of claim 1, wherein the alerting component is Wi-Fi enabled.

    8. The locating system of claim 1, wherein the alerting component is Bluetooth enabled.

    9. The locating system of claim 1, wherein the remote controller comprises a transmitting element and a volume controller.

    10. A locating system for indicating a position of a child's drinkware, the locating system comprising: a sleeve component comprising an external pouch, the sleeve component configured to partially encapsulate the child's drinkware; an alerting component comprising a location indicator and a communication receiving element, the alerting component removably insertable within the external pouch; and a remote controller comprising a transmitting element in wireless communication with the communication receiving element of the alerting component; and wherein the remote controller is configured to remotely activate the alerting component.

    11. The locating system of claim 10, wherein the child's drinkware is a sippy cup.

    12. The locating system of claim 10, wherein the external pouch is at least partially transparent.

    13. The locating system of claim 10, wherein the external pouch comprises a water-resistant interior.

    14. The locating system of claim 10, wherein the external pouch comprises a plurality of sound openings.

    15. The locating system of claim 10, wherein the sleeve component further comprises a bottom comprising a non-slip surface.

    16. The locating system of claim 10, wherein the sleeve component further comprises a weighted bottom.

    17. The locating system of claim 10, wherein sleeve component is a band.

    18. The locating system of claim 10, wherein the remote controller further comprises a message selector for controlling the location indicator.

    19. The locating system of claim 10, wherein the remote controller further comprises a volume controller for controlling the location indicator.

    20. A locating system for indicating a position of a child's drinkware, the locating system comprising; a sleeve component comprising an external pouch, the sleeve component configured to partially encapsulate the child's drinkware; an alerting component comprising a location indicator configured to emit an audible and a visual signal, a communication receiving element, and a battery, the alerting component removably insertable within the external pouch; a remote controller comprising a transmitting element in wireless communication with the communication receiving element of the alerting component; and a charging base configured to charge the remote controller and the alerting component; and wherein the remote controller is configured to remotely activate the location indicator of the alerting component.

    DETAILED DESCRIPTION

In the following description, for purposes of explanation, numerous specific details are set forth in order to provide a thorough understanding thereof. In other instances, well-known structures and devices are shown in block diagram form in order to facilitate a description thereof. Various embodiments are discussed hereinafter. It should be noted that the figures are described only to facilitate the description of the embodiments.     [0032] The present invention, in one exemplary embodiment, is a locating system comprising an alerting component housed within a removable drink sleeve which a baby bottle or sippy cup can easily slide into. The sleeve is typically constructed from a soft material and may be configured in various colors and decorations. The sleeve may also display graphics, such as animal pictures or cartoon characters, to make the design kid friendly. A small pouch may be positioned in the side of the sleeve material. Enclosed in this pouch or slot with an is an audio alert device. The audio alert device may be secured within the pouch via a hook and loop attachment, or other mechanical fastening system. The audio device can be removed from the pouch to wash the cup sleeve if desired.

    [0033] The locating system further comprises a remote control and charging base station. When a bottle or sippy cup is misplaced, a user simply activates the location pager on the remote control. This causes the audio alert device's alarm to go off. The remote control can increase the volume of the sound if the alarm is not initially heard. The pouch may have small holes in the side so that the sound can escape and be heard. The user then simply follows the sound to the source to find the missing baby bottle or sippy cup.

An elastic or stretchable sleeve or band is configured to encapsulate the baby bottle or sippy cup at least partially. An alerting component is positional and securable within an external pouch in the sleeve or band. The alerting component comprises a location indicator configured to emit a signal indicating a location and position of the lost or misplaced baby bottle or sippy cup. The emitted signal may be audible, visual, vibratory, or a combination thereof. The alerting component is wirelessly activatable by a remote controller configured to select the desired signal and a volume of the signal.

    [0035] Referring initially to the drawings, FIGS. 1-14 illustrate a locating system 100. The locating system 100 is configured to indicate and broadcast a current position of a baby or child's drinkware. The child's drinkware may be a baby bottle 10 as illustrated in FIGS. 2 and 3, a sippy cup 20 as illustrated in FIGS. 4 and 5, or any other similar cylindrical drinkware used by infants and children that may be easily lost or misplaced. The locating system 100 is reusable and may be used on many different bottles and cups.

    [0036] As illustrated in FIG. 1, the locating system 100 comprises a sleeve component 120, an alerting component 150, and a remote controller 170. The sleeve component 120 is configured to partially encapsulate the baby bottle 10, the child's sippy cup 20, or other drinkware. The sleeve component 120 is generally flexible and stretchy in nature to facilitate a snug fit around the baby bottle 10, sippy cup 20, or child's drinkware. The sleeve component 120 may be constructed from an elastic material, such as a polymer or polyurethane rubber, synthetics, or natural materials with elastic properties. To encapsulate the drinkware, the sleeve component 120 is stretched over the drinkware and allowed to contract back for a tight fit. The sleeve component 120 may also act as an insulator.

    [0037] The sleeve component 120 is typically constructed as a hollow tube or cylinder and comprises an inner surface 122 and an outer surface 124. The inner surface 122 engages the encapsulated drinkware. Alternatively, the sleeve component 120 may be conducted as a band as illustrated in FIG. 8. The outer surface 124 may comprise at least one exterior indicia 126. The at least one exterior indicia 126 may be a color, combination of colors, a pattern, a graphic, a logo, a cartoon, a picture, or the like, or any combination thereof. For example, the at least one exterior indicia 126 may be a design pleasing to an infant or young child as illustrated in FIGS. 2 and 3.

    [0038] Alternatively, as illustrated in FIG. 7, the sleeve component 120 may further comprise a bottom 128. The bottom 128 is configured to fit around a bottom of the drinkware. The bottom 128 may comprise a textured or non-slip surface 130. The textured or non-slip surface 130 may help keep the encapsulated drinkware from spilling. The bottom 128 may also comprise a weighted element 132. The weighted element 132 may be a weighted ring or plate in the bottom 128 to provide additional stability for the encapsulated drinkware.

The external pouch 140 is constructed of a similar material as the sleeve component 120 and is attached, adhered, or otherwise integrated into the outer surface 124. The external pouch 140 is configured to retain the alerting component 150. The external pouch 140 may be solid or at least partially transparent. The external pouch 140 comprises an opening 142 or slit and a closure 144. The closure 144 is configured to temporarily secure the alerting component 150 in place when positioned within the external pouch 140. The closure 144 may be a hook and loop fastener or any other mechanical closure system.

    [0040] The external pouch 140 is configured to allow the transmission of a signal emitted by the alerting component 150. A plurality of small apertures or openings 148 may be integrated into the external pouch 140. The speaker 154 may broadcast an audible alert such as a series of beeps, noises, tones, music or words that the user may listen for to indicate the position of the object to be located alert when activated. The location indicator 152 may further comprise a light element 156. The light element 156 may be a low power lamp, such as a light emitting diode (LED) configured to emit a light signal to indicate the position of the object to be located alert when activated. The location indicator 152 may further comprise a vibrating element 158. The vibrating element 158 may vibrate to indicate the position of the object to be located alert when activated.

The communication receiving element 160 is in wireless communication with the remote controller 170. The alerting component 150 may be enabled with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or any other similar form of wireless communication via a radio signal.

The remote controller 170 comprises a transmitting element 172. The transmitting element 172 is in wireless communication with the communication receiving element 160 of the alerting component 150. The volume controller 174 is configured to control a volume of an audible signal emitted by the location indicator 152 of the alerting component 150.

The message selector 176 may select the type of audible alert, a pattern of the visual alert, a vibrational pattern, or the like.
