DETAILED DESCRIPTION
[0038]
[0039] Prior to the magnetic resonance-based examination, the transfer plate 2 is intended to be arranged on the object table 3. In order to allow a simple arrangement of the local coils, prior to this step, however, the supporting unit 4 is arranged on the object table 3. The supporting unit 4 may be configured to be separate from the transfer plate 2. In this way, in a later step, the transfer plate may be moved over the supporting unit 4. The supporting unit 4 includes two mountings 5 arranged on opposite side surfaces of the supporting unit 4. Inserted into each mounting 5 is a supporting section of a coil holder 6 that includes a plurality of local coils. The coil holder 6 may be, for example, a Flex coil, in which a plurality of coils are arranged in an elastically dimensionally stable housing.
[0040] After arranging the supporting unit 4 together with the coil holders 6 fitted thereto, the examination object 1 is positioned on the transfer plate 2 on the object table 3. The supporting unit 4 is therefore arranged between the object table 3 and the transfer plate 2.
[0041] The free sections of the coil holder 6 are subsequently bent in the direction of the arrow 7 into the position shown with a dotted line 8 and fastened there, for example, by sticking together self-adhesive areas provided on the coil holders or by hooking the coil holders to each other or by using a further element.
[0042] When the right-hand coil holder 6 is bent, an elastically bendable spacer 10 arranged on the supporting unit 4 is automatically bent too. The spacer exerts a righting moment to bring the coil holder 6 back into its original position. If the coil holder 6 is bent together with the coil holder 6 until the coil holder 6 assumes the position 8, then the spacer 10 exerts a force on the coil holder 6 that pushes the holder 6 out of a free volume 9. Consequently, the free volume 9 is maintained in order for example, to allow intubation of the examination object 1.

[0046]
[0047] In an alternative embodiment, the supporting units may be used on the object table 3 in order to support a coil holder that essentially rests flat on the object table 3 underneath the transfer plate. In this case, additional local coils may, for example, be arranged directly on the examination object 1 above the transfer plate, and/or further coil holders may be provided to support the coils.
[0048]
[0049] In the simplest scenario, the coil holder includes local coils. In alternative embodiments, a coil holder, by which at least one coil device that includes at least one local coil is supported, is used. An example thereof is shown in
