The present disclosure relates generally to cosmetic powders in which the powders are surface modified with at least one polysaccharide, or salt forms thereof. The powders may be used in cosmetic compositions such as a powder foundation, liquid foundation, point makeup, lip, mascara, eyeliner, skin care products which are skin cream, hair care products which are shampoo, conditioner, treatment and hair styling products, hair color products, cleansing products which are a body soap, hand soap and facial cleanser.

The present invention relates to a composition, preferably a cosmetic composition, comprising at least one polysaccharide comprising rhamnose: at least one polyol, at least one fatty acid and polyglycerol ester comprising 5 to 9 glycerol patterns, and at least 10% by weight of at least one non-volatile hydrocarbon oil relative to the total weight of the composition, chosen from among C.sub.10-C.sub.26 monoalcohols; monoesters with formula R.sub.1COOR.sub.2 wherein R.sub.2 represents the remainder of a saturated or unsaturated, linear or branched or aromatic fatty acid comprising 4 to 40 carbon atoms, and R.sub.2 represents a hydrocarbon Chain, particularly branched, containing 3 to 40 carbon atoms, provided that R.sub.1+R.sub.2 is greater than or equal to 17; the diesters comprising between 17 and 40 carbon atoms in total, and in particular diesters with formula R′.sub.1COOR′.sub.2OOCR′.sub.3 wherein R′.sub.1 and R′.sub.3 each represent the remainder of a linear N or branched fatty acid comprising from 4 to 15 carbon atoms, and R′.sub.2 represents a hydrocarbon chain, particularly linear, containing 2 to 10 carbon atoms; plant hydrocarbon oils; linear or branched alkanes having 15 to 19 carbon atoms; and mixtures thereof.
