The present discloses is a replaceable threaded insert for mounting a knife assembly or knife holder to a chipping head. The replaceable threaded insert has a generally frustoconical shape allowing the insert to be slid in an opening of the chipping head. The inner portion of the insert is threaded. A knife holder may be positioned over the chipping head and a bolt may be inserted in an aperture of the knife holder and in the threaded inner portion of the threaded insert, thus attaching the knife holder to the chipping head.

ADJUSTING MECHANISM FOR A CUTTING TOOL
20200023545 · 2020-01-23 ·

An adjusting mechanism for a cutting tool having knife holders circumferentially interspaced and having a back surface facing a circumferential direction and a seat surface facing a radial direction. The mechanism includes a support member having fixation points securable to the cutting tool. A deformable member is sandwiched between the cutting tool and the support member. The deformable member defines an adjustable lateral reference surface facing an axial direction to be in abutment with the knife inserts. An adjustment member is mounted on one of the support member and the deformable member between the fixation points of the support member. The adjustment member is operable to exert a force on the deformable member to locally deform the deformable member from an undeformed state to a deformed state. An axial distance between the support member and the deformable member is greater in the deformed state than in the undeformed state.

WOOD CUTTING TOOL AND AN ARRANGEMENT FOR USING SAID TOOL

Disclosed is a cutting tool mounted on a shaft rotating about an axis, including a body having first cutting inserts mounted with equal spacing at the outer periphery of the body, which first cutting inserts have a cutting edge extending across the width of the body at a predetermined peripheral radius from the axis; and second cutting inserts mounted with equal spacing adjacent the outer periphery on a first side surface of the body, which second cutting inserts have a cutting edge extending in an axial plane perpendicular to the axis. The cutting edge of each first insert extends up to a predetermined distance from the axial plane of the second inserts; and the cutting edge of each second insert preceding a first insert extends a predetermined radial distance outside the peripheral radius of the cutting edges of the first inserts. Also disclosed is a related apparatus.

Contour rake face cutting tool

A contoured rake face cutting tool and method of making is disclosed. A rotary cutting tool with a plurality of teeth can cause damage to a work piece during cutting. By orienting the cutting angle of the teeth relative to the rotational central axis to high shear angle such as 50 or 70 degrees, the tool creates a high compression cut which is cleaner and less damaging to the work piece. The cutting surface itself is profiled, i.e. non-planar, such as concave or convex or other non planar shape, which is preferably formed into an ultra-hard material which is supplied for use in a planar form.

MULTI-PROFILE MILLING APPARATUS AND MACHINING DEVICE

The invention relates to a multi-profile milling apparatus (10) for machining workpieces that are preferably made of wood, wood materials, plastic, composite material and/or the like, in particular for machining edges of the workpieces, having a first milling device (11) which has at least one first milling tool (18) with a first machining profile (19), wherein the first milling device (11) is provided in an operating position and can be coupled to a drive shaft (13), and having at least one second milling device (12) which has at least one second milling tool (21) with a second machining profile (22), wherein the at least one second milling device (12) is movable relative to the first milling device (11) between a use position (24) and a non-use position (23), characterized in that a locking device (27) having at least one centrifugal element (28, 29) is provided and the at least one centrifugal element (28, 29) locks the at least one second milling device (12) in the use position (24) or the non-use position (23) during a rotating movement of the milling devices (11, 12), as well as a machining device (20).

Mitre cutting guide tool
