OPERATING DEVICE
An operating device according to one embodiment includes a tiltable operating lever, a holding member that holds the operating lever, a locking member that restricts a tilt of the operating lever, a driving source, a hold driving mechanism driven by the driving source and configured to move the holding member between a hold position where the operating lever is held at a tilted position, and a return position where the operating lever returns to a predetermined position from the tilted position, and a lock driving mechanism driven by the driving source and configured to move the locking member between a lock position where the tilt of the operating lever is restricted, and a release position where restricting the tilt of the operating lever is released. The hold driving mechanism and the lock driving mechanism are respectively driven by the driving source at different timings.
TRANSMISSION GRADE SENSOR RATIONALITY AND TRIM ALGORITHM
A system for conducting a rationality check of a transmission grade sensor includes a controller configured to calculate a change in elevation over time based on a change in barometric pressure. The controller calculates another change in elevation based on an average grade determined from a transmission grade sensor. The controller compares the second change in elevation to the first change in elevation and, if there is a significant discrepancy between them, calculates a grade correction factor. The controller then modifies the shift logic and/or shift schedule of the transmission based on the average grade from the transmission grade sensor and on the grade correction factor.

Gear shift lever assembly
A gear shift lever assembly includes a gear shift lever arm which includes a distal foot-peg end and a bifurcated proximal end and first passageway for facilitating securement of the gear shift lever arm to a gear selector spindle shaft of a motorcycle. The assembly also includes a spindle shaft mount insert sized to fit within the bifurcated ends of the gear shift lever arm. The insert has a splined aperture that matches the splines of the splines of the gear selector spindle shaft, and a second passageway having a longitudinal axis transverse to the longitudinal axis of the splined aperture. The gear shift lever assembly is mountable to the gear selector spindle shaft of the motorcycle with the spindle shaft mount insert interposed between the bifurcated proximal end of the gear shift lever arm with a mounting bolt passed through the aligned first and second passageways.
