Systems and methods for determining and using posted speed limits for vehicles
Systems and methods to determine posted speed limits for vehicles and modify a centralized database of posted speed limits may manage the centralized database, receive, from a fleet of vehicles, requests to modify speed limits associated with roads, and modify the centralized database in accordance with the received requests for modification. Individual vehicles may compare a posted speed limit for a particular road as identified based on road-side image information with a previously stored speed limit from the centralized database for the same road in order to detect a discrepancy and transmit a request for a modification.
Method and system for synthesizing a lane image
A method for synthesizing a lane image is proposed in the present application. This method includes the following steps. M continuous image frames are retrieved at a frame rate f from a video image capture device. A quantity N for image mapping is determined based on a dash length L of a dashed line and a distance S between two dashes of the dashed lines. A frame interval for mapping image frames is determined based on the dash length L, the distance S, the velocity v, and the frame rate f. At least N image frames are retrieved from the M continuous image frames at the frame interval. The at least N image frames are synthesized to obtain the lane image using an image synthesizing device.
Driver assistance system and method for a motor vehicle for displaying an augmented reality
A driver assistance system for a motor vehicle having a first assistance subsystem for capturing a first sub-area of an environment of the motor vehicle and having a second assistance subsystem for capturing a second sub-area of the environment. The first assistance subsystem is configured to generate a first image of the first sub-area and the second assistance subsystem is configured to generate a second image of the second sub-area. The driver assistance system has a display device for displaying at least the first image. The display device being configured to display a first augmented reality, the first augmented reality being generated by superimposition of the first image with first assistance information of the first assistance subsystem as the first augmented reality content and by superimposition with second assistance information of the second assistance subsystem as the second augmented reality content.
VEHICULAR VISION SYSTEM WITH WINDSHIELD MOUNTED CAMERA
A method for providing image processing for a plurality of vehicular driving assist systems includes mounting a camera module at a portion of an in-cabin side of a windshield of a vehicle. The camera module houses a camera, a circuit board, at least one electrical connector and an image processor. The camera is electrically connected to circuitry of the circuit board via a flexible electrical connection. With the camera module mounted at the vehicle windshield, electrical power is provided to the camera via the flexible electrical connection, the camera is controlled via the circuitry, the camera is operated to capture image data, which is provided to the circuitry via the flexible electrical connection and is received at the circuitry. The image processor processes the image data received at the circuitry of the circuit board for the plurality of driving assist systems of the vehicle.
AESTHETIC DISPLAY UNIT FOR A VEHICLE
A method for providing one or more of a rear or a side view of a vehicle includes generating a video stream of images subsequently captured by at least one camera of the vehicle or of a virtual mirror device of the vehicle, processing the generated video stream, and displaying the generated video stream on at least one screen of a display unit of the vehicle or of the virtual mirror device.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING TOP VIEW IMAGE OF PARKING SPACE
An apparatus and method for providing a top view image of a parking space are provided. The apparatus includes a steering angle sensor that measures a steering angle of a vehicle, a top view image generator that generates a top view image of a parking space depending on travel of the vehicle, a display that displays the top view image generated by the top view image generator, and a controller that captures the top view image displayed by the display and generates a panorama top view image by connecting the current top view image generated by the top view image generator and the captured previous top view image, based on the steering angle measured by the steering angle sensor.
Information processing apparatus and information processing method
An information processing apparatus according to an embodiment includes a determination unit and an output control unit. The determination unit determines whether a particular part related to a type of an object is included in a blind spot of an object of interest. The output control unit outputs output information when it is determined that the part is included in the blind spot.
Back-Up Camera With Speaker and Lights
A backup-assisting device which assists in the backing up of a vehicle by providing one or more visual and auditory aids. The one or more visual and auditory aids include at least an image sensor such as digital video camera, one or more illuminating devices such as one or more lights, a sound-generating device such as speaker.
Method of synchronizing multiple vehicular cameras with an ECU
A method of synchronizing cameras for a vehicular vision system includes providing camera control signals to the cameras from the ECU via respective links from the ECU to the cameras. At least two of the cameras are in communication with a hub via respective links, and the ECU is in communication with the hub via a hub link. The camera control signals are provided to one camera via a link between the ECU and the camera, and are provided to at least two other cameras via the hub link and respective links between the hub and the other cameras. The camera control signals regulate timing of the respective camera via starting the camera synchronous to the ECU reference timing. Image data is captured by each camera and provided to the ECU via the respective link or links.
Vehicular vision system with windshield mounted camera
A vehicular vision system includes a camera module having a camera, a circuit board, at least one electrical connector and an image processor. With the camera module mounted at a vehicle windshield, the camera has a field of view forward of the vehicle and through the vehicle windshield. The camera includes an imager and a lens, with the lens accommodated in a lens barrel. The camera captures image data when operated. The camera is electrically connected to circuitry established at the circuit board via a flexible electrical connection. Circuitry of the circuit board, via the flexible electrical connection, (i) provides electrical power to the camera, (ii) controls the camera and (iii) receives image data from the camera. With the camera module mounted at the windshield, the circuit board is tilted at an acute angle relative to a longitudinal axis of the lens barrel of the camera.
