Barge for recovery of rocket launch vehicle
A barge for recovery of a rocket launch vehicle is proposed, which can recover a launch vehicle from the sea onto the land in safety during launch vehicle recovering work. The barge can recover the launch vehicle in safety by effectively preventing a slope of the structure which supports the launch vehicle.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR THERMAL CONTROL OF POWERED SYSTEMS ON-BOARD A FLIGHT VEHICLE USING PHASE CHANGE MATERIALS (PCMs)
Thermal control of powered systems on-board a flight vehicle is achieved by leveraging the latent heat storage capacity of Phase Change Materials (PCMs) to maintain the operating temperature at or slightly above the melting temperature of the PCM. The invention is particularly well suited for use with powered systems such as laser, microwave emitters, RF sensors and high-density power electronics that must operate at a desired operating temperature while generating considerable waste heat in a confined packaging volume of smaller flight vehicles such as missiles, rockets, guided projectiles, drones or other such platforms.
ORBIT TRANSITION APPARATUS
An orbit transition apparatus that transitions an orbit of a payload in outer space includes a rotating body, an adapter disposed on a center part of the rotating body for docking a payload, a launch module disposed outside of the rotating body for launching the payload, and a thruster for rotating the rotating body. The launch module may launch the payload to a target orbit.
Method and system for estimating the direction of a satellite in the transfer phase from an initial orbit to a mission orbit
A method for estimating a direction of a satellite in the transfer phase. The direction of the satellite is estimated relative to a measurement antenna by executing steps for measuring the reception power, by the measurement antenna, of a target signal emitted by the satellite, for different pointing directions of the measurement antenna. The target signal has a substantially sinusoidal component referred to as a single-frequency component. Each power measurement step includes a transposition in the frequency domain of a digital signal, obtained from a signal supplied by the measurement antenna, to obtain a frequency spectrum of the digital signal over a predetermined frequency band having the single-frequency component. The power measurement for the pointing direction being considered is determined based on a maximum value of the frequency spectrum.
Center of gravity propulsion space launch vehicles
An aerospace vehicle that permits horizontal launch and subsequent orbital deployment of a second stage. The vehicle can be returned to Earth for subsequent re-use. Both land-based and water-based launch is disclosed. A rocket propulsion engine is located at the center of gravity of the vehicle and rotates to provide vertical and horizontal thrust.
Launch vehicle with solar cells, manufacturing method and transport method
A launch vehicle to transport at least one payload into an earth orbit, wherein the launch vehicle comprises a plurality of solar cells on its outer surface. Furthermore, a manufacturing method for a launch vehicle with a plurality of solar cells on its outer surface and a transport method for at least one payload using a launch vehicle with a plurality of solar cells on its outer surface are provided.
Hybrid rocket
A readily combustible portion (110) includes a readily combustible exposed surface (111) that is exposed to a flow channel (CA). A combustion-resistant portion (140), which comprises a material that is more resistant to combustion than the readily combustible portion (110), covers an outer surface of the readily combustible portion (110) on the opposite side from the readily combustible exposed surface (111) in a direction orthogonal to a length direction parallel to a direction in which a hybrid rocket is propelled. The combustion-resistant portion (140) includes a thick portion (120) that serves as a stopper that prevents peeling of the readily combustible portion (110) from the combustion-resistant portion (140) in a direction from a starting end surface (100a) toward a terminating end surface (100b).
Electromagnetic lock release mechanism and method for separating satellite from rocket
An electromagnetic lock release mechanism includes: a frame, an ejection unit, a satellite unit, a lock release unit, and a lock release drive unit; the ejection unit includes an ejection spring, an ejection jack, and a spring sleeve; the lock release unit includes a locking pin, a locking slider, an unlocking spring, and a base; the lock release drive unit includes an electromagnet limit nut, an electromagnet moving core, and an electromagnet. Advantages of the present invention are as follows. The present invention is a point positioning lock release mechanism that can be used to separate micro-satellites and rockets and repeatedly tested, which provides reliable locking and separating of satellites and rockets in a complex mechanical environment, and can be repeatedly tested on the ground. The separation is entirely a mechanism action without pollution.
