Pipe extraction assisted by pre-stressed strand

A machine for extracting a ductile pipe. The machine has a vise which can grip the pipe, and a wire clamp. Each of the wire clamp and vise are supported on a carriage which is movable relative to a frame. This enables the vise to grip and pull the ductile pipe. Additionally, a wire strand may be disposed through the pipe from a far end to the end at which the machine is placed. The wire clamp allows the machine to pre-stress the strand to improve the extraction of the ductile pipe.

Systems and Methods for Controlling Rope

A rope control device a main body defining a central opening and first and second side portions, projections extending from the main body, an end recess defined by the first and second projections, an end friction surface formed at a juncture of a projection and the main body, and a bar. With the bar in a first position, the first rope portion is extended through the central opening and at least partly around the bar. With the bar in a second position, the main body and the bar define first and second opening portions of the central opening and the first rope portion is extended through the first and second opening portions and at least partly around the bar. The second rope portion is arranged within the first end recess such that, when the rope is under tension, the second rope portion frictionally engages the first end friction surface.

A device, system and method are used for hoisting and lowering a load. The device has a front plate that may be displaced to reveal a sheave. The device also has a friction accessory. The friction accessory is arranged to create friction between a rope and the device when a load is suspended from the device using the rope and where the device is secured to a support structure. The system may be prepared by an operator, having ascended to an elevated location, and further allows the operator to lower the load from the elevated location prior to descending.

Double-reeved lifting device with an improved pawl-locking mechanism
12371308 · 2025-07-29 · ·

A double-reeved lifting device includes a lower reeve block secured to a lifting hook and an upper reeve block, wherein the two reeve blocks are part of a mechanical reversible connection system to be reversibly configurable between a connected configuration and a disconnected configuration, with a locking mechanism and a complementary locking structure supporting a locking member. The locking mechanism includes a chassis having a locking channel provided with a mouthpiece through which the locking member can enter and exit and can slide in the locking channel respectively during a relative approach and distancing between the two reeve blocks. A pawl is pivotally mounted on the chassis to pivot inside the locking channel and is provided with a free end capable of being engaged with the locking member. A thrust stop assembly and elastic return member push on the pawl.

Winch

A winch is disclosed having a drive cylinder, configured to be rotated by an applied force about its longitudinal axis and having at least three drive grooves. The winch also includes an idler with a longitudinal axis spaced apart from the longitudinal axis of the drive cylinder. A line is fed onto the winch by passing it over a first of the at least three drive grooves then around the idler and then around a second of the at least three drive grooves. The line is attached to one of a fixed object or the object to be moved. The winch is attached to the other of the fixed object or the object to be moved. As the applied force is applied to the drive cylinder, the line is gripped by the at least three drive grooves and a length of the line between the fixed object and the object to be moved is shortened, whereby the object is moved.

MOVABLE CABLE SPOOLING APPARATUS

A movable cable spooling apparatus including a drum and a cable. The drum is arranged for winding and unwinding the cable. It may include a frame with wheels for moving the apparatus in which the frame supports the drum. It may include a cable guide forming an exit and entry for the cable to be wound on or unwound from the drum. The frame may include a rigid base plate that supports the drum and the cable guide. The cable may run adjacent to the rigid base plate between the drum and the cable guide.
