Multifunctional coating films that can be applied in liquid form
Multifunctional coating films that can be applied in liquid form are provided for compressing, sealing, covering and preserving surfaces. The films include a composition of polysaccharide materials and/or homo- or heteroglycan water-soluble polysaccharide derivatives, polyol spacers, and crosslinkers with carbonyl or carboxylic function(s). As-applied, the composition is water-soluble and reactive, but after hardening it is capable of absorbing water or swelling, impermeable to water vapour, stable against water and UV and can be biologically degraded in a controlled manner. By reacting polysaccharide materials, polysaccharide derivatives and polyol spacers with cross linkers having carbonyl or carboxylic function(s), mechanically stable flexible films are obtained, which retain their mechanical properties up to a foreign material content of 80%. The films can swell in a controlled manner and can bind up to 75% water relative to their dry weight, corresponding to the degree of crosslinking and the spacer that is used.

OPTICAL FILM AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING OPTICAL FILM
An object of the invention is to provide an optical film having thermochromic properties capable of regulating the near-infrared shield factor depending on the temperature environment, having a low haze value, and having excellent cracking resistance and adhesiveness even if put to use for an extended period of time, and a method for manufacturing the optical film. The optical film of the invention includes, on a transparent substrate, an optically functional layer containing at least vanadium dioxide-containing fine particles and a binder resin, wherein the number average particle size of all the particles including primary particles and secondary particles of the vanadium dioxide-containing fine particles in the optically functional layer is less than 200 nm.
Stabilization of suspended solid particles and/or gas bubbles in aqueous fluids
This invention relates to compositions that have utility, amongst others, in the stabilization of suspension particles or gas bubbles in fluid water-based compositions and/or in conferring shear thinning behavior to such fluid water-based compositions. The inventors have developed parenchymal cellulose based materials, which comprise cell wall derived networks of cellulose based fibers and nanofibrils, can advantageously be used for stabilization of suspended solid particles in fluid water-based compositions. Specific aspects of the invention concern the parenchymal cellulose based materials, their production and their use in fluid water-based compositions, as well as the resulting fluid water-based compositions per se.

Low flame smoke
A smoke producing method and device of the present disclosure produces a non-incendiary, organic-polymerization based, smoke-producing reaction. The method of generating smoke comprises initiating a frontal polymerization reaction by heating a composition comprising a monomer compound that exothermically polymerizes upon initiation with an initiator compound and an initiator compound that initiates polymerization of the monomer compound present at a mass concentration that is at least five percent of the mass concentration of the monomer compound. The polymerization of the monomer compound is exothermic, and in one embodiment the concentration of initiator compound is at least five percent of the concentration of monomer compound. The smoke mainly comprises thermal decomposition products of the initiator compound.
PRINTED PACKAGING LAMINATE, METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING OF THE PACKAGING LAMINATE AND PACKAGING CONTAINER
A laminated packaging material for food packaging, comprises a core layer of paper or paperboard, which on a first side intended to be directed towards the outside of a packaging container, has, in the following order, a dry pre-coating for receiving a printed dcor of an aqueous, pigment-based, ink-jet printing ink, a pigment-based ink-jet printed ink dcor layer and further laminated onto the printed dcor layer, a protective outermost layer of a thermoplastic polymer. Also disclosed is a method for manufacturing of the packaging laminate and to a packaging container that is made from the laminated packaging material as well as to a pre-coating composition for use in the laminated packaging material and in the manufacturing thereof.
