Palm oil without unwanted contaminants
The present invention relates to a process reducing in a palm oil the content of unwanted propanol components selected from free chloropropanols, chloropropanol fatty acid esters and combinations of two or more thereof, and the process is comprising a bleaching step using an adsorbent comprising alumina oxide wherein the content of alumina oxide is not more than 9.5%, preferably the adsorbent is having a content of earth alkali oxides of from 12 to 27%.
Direct alkoxylation of bio-oil
An alkoxylated bio-oil composition is provided. The alkoxylated bio-oil composition may include an alkoxylated bio-oil prepared from an alkoxylation of dewatered bio-oil. A method for preparing an alkoxylated bio-oil composition is provided. A copolymer composition is provided. The copolymer composition may include an alkoxylated bio-oil copolymer unit. A method for preparing a copolymer composition is provided.
VERSATILE METHOD FOR PURIFYING GLYCERIDIC MATERIALS
The invention provides a method for the purifying of low-quality glyceridic material usually unfit for use as feed or food. The method includes a thermal treatment of the low-quality glyceridic material and chemical treatments. The purified oils and fat are suitable feed-stock or suitable components thereof for a hydrogenation processes yielding to high quality renewable diesel. The process thus permits the recycling of waste material that is usually discarded, into a valuable high-quality fuel.
Oleaginous microorganism disruption process using supersonic disperser and method for producing bio-oil using same
Provided are an oleaginous microorganism disruption process using a supersonic disperser and a method for producing bio-oil using the same. The method for producing bio-oil according to the present invention induces a cell disruption of oleaginous microorganisms without a separate drying process, thereby providing a method for continuously producing bio-oil in an economical and simple manner. In addition, the method of the present invention induces a cell disruption of oleaginous microorganisms without a heating process, thereby producing bio-oil without a change in physical properties due to the heat.
ENZYMATIC REMOVAL OF CHLOROPHYLL SUBSTRATES FROM TRIACYLGLYCEROL-BASED OILS
The present invention relates to a process for treating an oil comprising a chlorophyll substrate, the process comprising contacting the oil with a polypeptide having decolorase activity or a composition comprising the polypeptide, wherein the polypeptide is selected from the group consisting of: a. a polypeptide which has at least 80% identity to amino acids 1 to 318 of SEQ ID NO: 1; and, b. a polypeptide encoded by a nucleic acid sequence that has at least 80% identity to the nucleic acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 2.
MICROMIXING FOR HIGH THROUGHPUT MICROFLUIDIC REFINING
The present disclosure relates to the design of structural features that enable the facile and reproducible fabrication of a microfluidic reactor that eliminates the problem of scaling factors in turn enabling the broad integration of microchannel reactors to industrial scale production. The process is highlighted via the effective and successful scale up of a purification process for the removal of a variety of different classes of impurities from crude vegetable oils mixtures into feedstocks that can be directly integrated into the hydrotreatment vegetable oil hydrogenation process for mass production of synthetic diesel derived from renewable sources.
Method for decolorization and deodorization of egg yolk oil
A method for decolorization and deodorization of egg yolk oil comprises at least: adding a first ether solution to a crude egg yolk oil, and performing a first stirring process, to produce a first egg yolk oil mixture; adding activated carbon to the first egg yolk oil mixture, performing a second stirring process, and removing the activated carbon, to produce a second egg yolk oil mixture; adding a second ether solution and distilled water to the second egg yolk oil mixture, and performing a third stirring process, to produce a third egg yolk oil mixture; and removing distilled water, part of the first ether solution, and part of the second ether solution from the third egg yolk oil mixture by a distillation process, and removing the remaining first ether solution and the remaining second ether solution by a vacuum process to produce a decolorized and deodorized egg yolk oil.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PROCESSING ESSENTIAL OILS
A system for processing essential oils includes a mixing tank, three winterization vessels, three respective filtering vessels, a fine filtering vessel, a holding tank, an evaporator, an essential oil reservoir, a solvent reservoir, and a solvent filtering vessel. The evaporator can include a heat exchanger configured to heat a plate down which a mixture including the oils flows, to evaporate other components of the mixture. Fluids can be advanced through the system using a pressurized inert gas.
