20190032520 · 2019-01-31 · ·

A guide assembly for a valve lifter of an engine is disclosed. The valve lifter is at least partly received within a bore of a body of the engine and an end portion of the valve lifter is exposed to an outside of the body. The guide assembly includes a pin and a guide. The pin is adapted to be fixedly coupled to the end portion of the valve lifter, while the guide is adapted to be coupled to the body. The guide defines a channel. The pin is received within the channel and cooperates with the channel to facilitate a movement of the valve lifter along an axis of the bore and restrict a rotation of the valve lifter about the axis of the bore.

Cam follower roller device with washer

The cam follower roller device providing a tappet body extending along an axis, an insert mounted in the tappet body, a pin mounted at least on the insert and a roller mounted on the pin. The device further provides a retaining washer mounted into a bore of the tappet body so as to axially retain the insert inside the tappet body. The tappet body provides retention means, cooperating with the washer to axially retain the washer relative to the tappet body. The retaining washer is axially interposed between the insert and the retention means.

A roller lifter includes a lifter body having a cylindrical peripheral wall and a roller rotatably mounted on the lifter body via a shaft member and brought into contact with a cam. The peripheral wall has an outer periphery formed with a sliding surface which is slid on an inner wall of a cylinder. The lifter body has a rotation stopper formed by outwardly protruding a part of the peripheral wall, and an opening formed in another part of the peripheral wall which another part is radially opposed to the rotation stopper. The opening is open so that the rotation stopper oppositely faces the opening.

ENGINE VALVE LIFTER HAVING ANTI-ROTATION PLUG

An engine roller lifter for use in a leak-valvetrain of an internal combustion engine includes a body, a roller and an anti-rotation plug. The body includes an outer peripheral surface configured for sliding movement in a bore provided in the engine. The bore is supplied oil by an oil passage communicating therewith. The body defines an opening. The roller bearing is rotatably mounted to the body and is configured for rolling contact with an engine camshaft. The anti-rotation plug is received at the opening and has a plug body including an anti-rotation protrusion that extends radially beyond an outer peripheral surface of the plug body. The anti-rotation plug can be staked into the opening of the body.

Variable valve train for an engine braking mode

The invention relates to a variable valve train for switching an outlet valve of an internal combustion engine to an engine braking mode. The variable valve train has a camshaft with a first cam, which is designed as a normal operation cam, and a second cam, which is designed as an engine braking cam. A first rocking lever has a first stroke device which is designed for selectively making or breaking a first operative connection between the first cam and the outlet valve by means of the first rocking lever. A second rocking lever has a second stroke device which is designed for selectively making or breaking a second operative connection between the second cam and the outlet valve by means of the second rocking lever. A valve device selectively connects the first stroke device or the second stroke device to a fluid feed line.
