DRIVE TRANSMISSION DEVICE, IMAGE READING APPARATUS, AND RECORDING APPARATUS
A drive transmission device includes a chassis fixed to an apparatus main body and a driving roller that is driven by a driving source. A belt member transmits rotational force of the driving roller. A tension roller contacts the belt member to apply tension to the belt member. A support member supports the tension roller rotatably and is swingable about a rotational shaft of the chassis. A screw fixes the support member to the chassis at a predetermined position. A retaining member is able to be engaged with the chassis, in which the support member is arranged and fixed between a part of the retaining member and the chassis in an insertion direction of the screw.
COLD-WEATHER STARTING STRATEGY USING AN ALTERNATOR-STARTER IN A VEHICLE HAVING A BELT DRIVEN BY AN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
A starting strategy for a power train (10) of a motor vehicle including an internal combustion engine (11) fitted with a drive shaft (12) extending along a longitudinal axis (X), an alternator-starter (14), a first pulley (15, 19) that is designed to be driven in rotation by the drive shaft, a pulley (16) that is rigidly connected to a shaft of the alternator-starter, a belt (17) encircling said two pulleys, and a coupling/decoupling system (18) between the first pulley (19) and the drive shaft of the engine (12),
characterized in that the starting strategy includes a preparation procedure for said belt in cold weather.
Toothed belt and sprocket system
A belt and sprocket system comprising a tensile cord disposed within a belt body, at least two teeth projecting from the belt body, the belt comprising a pitch length measured between the at least two teeth on the belt, one of the at least two teeth having a tooth tip and a profile comprising a first radius and a second radius and a third radius disposed between a first linear segment and a second linear segment, the sprocket having a groove for receiving one of the at least two teeth, the groove profile comprising a first radius and a second radius and the third radius and a fourth radius, each of which is connected in series to the others and each of which is unequal in length to the other radii, the tooth having a width that is approximately 35% of a pitch length at 90% of a tooth height so as to result in an interference fit between the one of at least two teeth and groove at 90% of the tooth height; and a volume between the tooth tip and the groove.
Pulley assembly having idler, power assist system having pulley assembly, and method
A pulley assembly including a drive pulley, a driven pulley, a flexible belt configured to connect the drive pulley to the driven pulley, an idler including a bearing and an idler pulley, the idler pulley engaged with the belt, the idler rotating about a first longitudinal axis, and an axial trap within the pulley assembly configured to restrict longitudinal movement of the idler along the first longitudinal axis.
Controller of hybrid system
A controller of a hybrid system including an internal combustion engine and a motor generator connected to each other via a belt includes processing circuitry configured to execute a power generation process that applies a load to the engine by controlling the motor generator to generate power when a first execution condition of an idling stop is satisfied, a slip rate calculation process that calculates a slip rate of the belt based on a rotational speed of the engine and a rotational speed of the motor generator while the power generation process is being executed, a determination process that determines whether or not a second execution condition of the idling stop is satisfied after waiting until a predetermined period elapses, when the slip rate is equal to or more than a threshold, and an idling stop process, when determining that the second execution condition is satisfied.
Belt drive tensioning system
Various techniques are provided to maintain drive belts at substantially constant tension over a wide range of conditions. In one embodiment, a system includes a housing, a bracket secured to the housing, first and second pulleys, and a belt engaged in tension with the first and second pulleys. The first and second pulleys are suspended from the housing through the bracket to reduce effects of thermal expansion of the housing on the belt tension. Other systems and related methods are also provided.
INTEGRATED STARTER AND GENERATOR SYSTEM OF VEHICLE
An integrated starter and generator (ISG) system of a vehicle includes: a planetary gear set including a sun gear, a planet carrier, and a ring gear as rotation elements of the planetary gear set; and an integrated starter and generator (ISG) functioning as a motor and a generator, and including a stator and a rotor. The planetary gear set and the ISG are disposed in a crankshaft pulley of an engine such that torque of a crankshaft of the engine is increased and is transmitted to the ISG when generating electricity and torque of the ISG is decreased and is transmitted to the crankshaft of the engine when starting.
Structural health monitoring of an escalator drive system
A structural health monitoring system is provided. The system includes a drive system having a first drive member a second drive member 38 operationally connected to the first drive member, and a tension member 39 operationally connecting the first drive member to the second drive member. At least one sensor 50 is configured to monitor a characteristic of at least one of the first drive member and the second drive member. A processor 54, in communication with the at least one sensor, is configured to determine if the structural health of the tension member is compromised based on the monitored characteristic. The processor is further configured to perform a safety response action when the structural health of the tension member is determined to be compromised.

Integrally driven linkage for industrial/commercial equipment
An integrally driven linkage for a conveyor system is provided. The integrally driven linkage includes inner and outer links, an axle upon which bearings are placed to support a two stage pulley arrangement and a multitude of additional axles which carry bearings and two position sheaves which carry daisy chained belt loops from one axle to the next. Cables and hoses may be externally attached at each outside link thereby providing a functional cable carrying device. The outside links may be stepped to prevent radial motion in one or more direction and/or to limit radial motion. The integrally driven linkage may be used for virtually any industrial or commercial application where mechanical and control energy is needed for non-stationary equipment, and is not limited to conveyor systems but may be applied to virtually any electro-mechanical device, including but not limited to pneumatic and hydraulic devices.
