Method of creating a component via transformation of representative volume elements
A method of forming a component includes defining a component volume discretized by a target mesh formed by a plurality of volume elements, each volume element defined, at least in part, by a shape function. The method further includes defining a parting surface within a representative volume element and discretizing the parting surface using a surface mesh that includes a plurality of surface elements and a plurality of surface nodes. The method further includes mapping the surface mesh into each volume element of the target mesh according to the quartic, or higher order, shape functions of the target mesh and forming a component based on the component surface structure produced by the mapped surface mesh.
HEAT EXCHANGER FLANGE PLATE WITH SUPERCOOLING FUNCTION
A heat exchanger having a heat exchanger core which is configured as a plate stack has a flange plate including at least one upper partial plate facing the heat exchanger core and at least one lower partial plate facing away from the heat exchanger core. The flange plate can include a supercooling passage which is bounded by at least one partial plate in the stacking direction of the partial plates and which receives a flow of refrigerant during the operation of the heat exchanger. A high variability can be provided thanks to the compact and flexible design, by means of which the most diverse of requirements can be achieved with no major design changes.
Heat exchanger unit
A heat exchanger unit that includes a frame and at least one cooler. The unit includes a mount assembly for coupling, at least partially, the cooler to the frame. The mount assembly includes an elongated fastening member; an outer ring; an inner ring; and a deformable ring. The deformable ring is disposed between the outer ring and the inner ring.
Multiple tube bank heat exchange unit with manifold assembly
A multiple bank, flattened tube heat exchange unit includes a first tube bank including a plurality of flattened tube segments extending longitudinally in spaced parallel relationship between a first manifold and a second manifold and a second tube bank including a plurality of flattened tube segments extending longitudinally in spaced parallel relationship between a first manifold and a second manifold, the second tube bank disposed behind the first tube bank. The second manifold of the first tube bank and the second manifold of the second tube bank form a manifold assembly wherein an interior volume of the second manifold of the first tube bank and an interior volume of the second manifold of the second tube bank of the manifold assembly are internally connected in fluid communication.
HEAT EXCHANGER AND METHOD OF WETTING HEAT EXCHANGERS
A heat exchanger including a first module and a second module for heat exchange between a first fluid medium and a second fluid medium. The first fluid medium is conducted through a closed channel system separate from the second fluid medium, with the closed channel system flowed around by the gaseous second fluid medium. The first module and the second module are wetted by a third fluid medium, with a first wetting apparatus wetting the first module being actuatable independently of a second wetting apparatus wetting the second module. A first blocking element is provided for the first wetting apparatus. A second blocking element is provided for the second wetting apparatus. A monitoring system is provided by means of which the period of use of each blocking element can be detected so that the blocking elements can be switched in based on the data on the period of use.
