SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR HEAT EXCHANGER FAILURE DETECTION
A system and a method for detecting a failure of a heat exchanger provided on an engine of an aircraft. An out-of-range fuel temperature downstream of an outlet of the heat exchanger is detected. A health of a fuel tank temperature signal indicative of a temperature of at least one fuel tank of the aircraft is monitored. A main oil temperature signal indicative of a temperature of oil in the engine is received. The failure is detected based on the main oil temperature and on the health of the fuel tank temperature signal.
Staged high temperature heat exchanger
A staged high temperature heat exchanger (HEX) may comprise a first stage made from a first material and a second stage made from a second material. The first stage may comprise an inlet manifold configured to receive a flow of fluid. The second stage may comprise an outlet manifold whereby the flow of fluid exits the HEX. The first stage is configured to withstand the temperature of the flow of fluid entering the inlet manifold and configured to reduce the temperature of the flow of fluid to an intermediate temperature before the flow of fluid reaches the second stage. In various embodiments, the first material may comprise a nickel-based superalloy having at least 40% of a Ni.sub.3(Al,X) precipitate phase, X being a metallic or refractory element other than Al.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MONITORING AND DIAGNOSIS OF HEAT EXCHANGER TUBE HEALTH
A system and method for monitoring heat exchanger tube health without requiring the heat exchanger system to be shut down and disassembled and without operator intervention. At least one wireless sensor ball (WSB) assembly is positioned in the heat exchanger system. The heat exchanger system includes an ultrasonic acoustic receiver array mounted therewithin. WSB assembly information is gathered regarding status, operating condition, health, efficiency of the piping system, and/or, piping system health trends.
Flat heat pipe with reservoir function
A flat heat pipe with a two-phase liquid-vapor working fluid, includes a first plate receiving thermal energy from a heat source, a second plate transferring thermal energy to a cold source, an edge to form a hermetically sealed enclosed internal space, a capillary structure interposed between the first and second plates, vaporization channels adjacent to the first plate, condensation channels adjacent to the second plate, a transfer passage placing the evaporation channels in communication with the condensation channels for the transport of vapor, and a collection channel forming a reservoir, in fluid communication with each condensation channel. The collection channel is adjacent to the second plate, such that the collection channel can pump and store the excess liquid phase.
Fluid heat exchange apparatus with recirculating structure
A fluid heat exchange apparatus including a casing, and a heat-dissipating device is provided. The casing includes a chamber, an inlet, and an outlet. The chamber includes a first channel including a first entrance and a first exit and a second channel including a second entrance and a second exit. The cross-sectional area of the first channel decreases from the first entrance to the first exit and the cross-sectional area of the second channel decreases from the second entrance to the second exit. The heat-dissipating device is located between the first exit and the outlet. A first fluid flows from the inlet and flows through the first channel and the heat-dissipating device and then flows to the outlet. Part of the first fluid flowing through the heat-dissipating device absorbs heat and forms bubbles moving to the second channel and then forms a second fluid converging into the first channel.
Falling film heat exchanger, absorption refrigerator system, ship, offshore structure and underwater offshore structure
A guide plate having depressed portions is provided between an array of heat exchanger tubes, herein after tubes, arranged horizontally side-by-side and a next lower array of tubes arranged horizontally side-by-side, and is positioned with the lowest parts of the depressed portions near crest portions of respective lower tubes. The guide plate conveys a liquid D on outer surfaces of respective upper tubes onto similarly positioned lower tubes even when the tubes move in a right-and-left direction. A falling film heat exchanger installed in a ship, an offshore structure or the like can avoid reduction in heat exchange performance, even when the ship or the like inclines and swings, by substantially evenly distributing and dropping a liquid onto the crests of the tubes and causing the liquid dropped from the tubes located in an upper array to fall onto the tubes located in the next lower array.
OUTDOOR UNIT
Provided is an outdoor unit for use in a refrigeration cycle apparatus circulating refrigerant mixture inclusive of 1,1,2-trifluoroethylene, the outdoor unit including: a casing; a pipe configured to allow the refrigerant mixture to flow through the pipe, the pipe being accommodated inside the casing and including a bend portion, the bend portion including a breakage-guide structure having a pressure resistance lower than a pressure resistance of rest of the pipe; and a plate interposed between the breakage-guide structure and outside of the casing.
HEAT EXCHANGER HAVING ENHANCED CORROSION RESISTANCE
A heat exchanger for heating a fluid in an incineration plant, comprising at least one heat exchanger component wherein the side in contact with the flue gas has an oxide layer comprising an -Al.sub.2O.sub.3 which protects the heat exchanger component against corrosion caused by corrosive compounds entrained or comprised by the flue gas.
Detecting fluid properties of a multiphase flow in a condensate drain
Flow sensors for, and a method of monitoring, a condensate drain. The method includes a) providing a flow sensor for detecting flow properties in a pipe and/or fitting carrying a medium, b) detecting a vibration behavior by means of a vibration converter at a measurement location provided on the flow sensor, and c) electronically evaluating the vibration behavior of a vibration body, wherein at the measurement location vibrations of a first region of the vibration body and a second region of the vibration body are recorded. The first region of the vibration body is provided at least partially in or adjacent to the flow of the medium, and the second region of the vibration body is outside the flow.
HEAT EXCHANGE SYSTEM WITH FLEXIBLE HEAT EXCHANGER
The present application relates to a heat exchange system with a flexible heat exchanger, wherein the flexible heat exchanger comprises a flexible substrate and a plurality of pipes; the plurality of pipes are arranged on the flexible substrate in parallel; two ends of the pipes are connected to an inlet header and an outlet header, respectively; the heat exchange system further comprises an outdoor heat exchanger unit; and, the outdoor heat exchanger unit is connected to the inlet header and the outlet header, respectively, to form a circulating heat exchange system.
