Monitoring and control of thermal sanitization in automated cleaning machines

Systems and/or methods for the monitoring and/or control of thermal sanitization in automated cleaning machines are described. A cleaning machine controller may predict a number of heat unit equivalents that will be delivered during a cleaning process based on a sump temperature difference (i.e., a change in the temperature of the cleaning solution in the sump) experienced at or near the beginning of the cleaning process. One or more cleaning process parameters may be adjusted and/or controlled based on the sump temperature difference in order to ensure that a target number of heat unit equivalents are delivered in order to achieve thermal sanitization of the wares subjected to the cleaning process.

COMPUTER PROGRAM PRODUCT FOR A ROBOT FOR OPERATING A DOMESTIC DISHWASHER, AND SYSTEM COMPRISING A DOMESTIC DISHWASHER AND A COMPUTER PROGRAM PRODUCT FOR A ROBOT
20230165427 · 2023-06-01 ·

A computer program product for a robot which includes a computer for operating a household dishwasher having a plurality of treatment programs is disclosed. The computer program product includes a non-transitory computer readable medium having commands which when the computer program product is run by the computer prompt the robot to carry out the steps of loading dishwasher skills which are specific to the household dishwasher from a storage device, and carrying out at least some of the loaded dishwasher skills in order to operate the household dishwasher.

USE OF RECYCLED WASH AND RINSE WATER FOR THE PRE-RINSE OPERATION OF DISHES
20220354337 · 2022-11-10 ·

A dishwashing machine is used for pre-rinse operation of soiled dishes. A cavity is configured and arranged to contain the soiled dishes. A nozzle is proximate the cavity and is in fluid communication with the cavity. An accumulator pan accumulates wash and rinse water including cleaning chemicals used in a previous cycle of the dishwashing machine. A fluid passageway interconnects the nozzle and the accumulator pan. A pump directs the accumulated wash and rinse water from the accumulator pan to the nozzle via the fluid passageway for pre-rinse operation of the soiled dishes in the cavity, and the nozzle directs the accumulated wash and rinse water into the cavity with the soiled dishes to assist in removing soil from the soiled dishes prior to a wash cycle of the dishwashing machine. The wash cycle utilizes fresh wash water.

DISHWASHING APPLIANCE WITH DECISION MAKING VIA SENSOR CIRCUIT

A method of operating a dishwashing appliance includes activating a pump for a predefined self-calibration time by supplying electrical power from a power supply to a motor of the pump. The method also includes monitoring, with the sensor circuit, electrical power between the power supply and the motor while the pump is activated for the predefined self-calibration time. The method further includes determining, based on the monitored electrical power, a motor type of the motor and selecting a set of control parameters corresponding to the determined motor type of the motor. The method also includes activating the pump according to the selected set of control parameters during at least one cycle of the dishwashing appliance.

DISHWASHING APPLIANCES AND SENSOR ASSEMBLIES FOR DETECTING A POSITION OF AN APPLIANCE DOOR
20230165431 · 2023-06-01 ·

A dishwashing appliance may include a cabinet, a door, and a sensor assembly. The door may extend along the lateral direction between a first lateral edge and a second lateral edge. The door may be rotatably mounted to the cabinet to move about a rotation axis between an open position and a closed position. The sensor assembly may detect a rotational position of the door and include a stationary electrical contact and a movable electrical contact. The stationary electrical contact may be mounted on the cabinet at a first side or a second side. The movable electrical contact may be mounted on the door at the first lateral edge or the second lateral edge. The movable electrical contact may be in selective alignment and electrical connection with the stationary electrical contact based on the rotational position of the door.

Dishwasher

The present disclosure relates to a dishwasher having a structure improved in convenience of use. The dishwasher includes a tub having a front opening and a top opening, a front door configured to open and close the front opening, a cover frame disposed on the top opening and including an opening opened in the up-down direction, a top door configured to open and close the opening of the cover frame, and a frame injector disposed on the cover frame to inject washing water from one side of the cover frame.

Dishwasher with image-based diagnostics

A dishwasher and method utilize an imaging system to perform various diagnostic operations within the dishwasher, including one or more of level sensing, filter cleaning, wash tub rinse down, foam detection, imaging system cleaning, and remote viewing. A controller may clean a filter by controllably-redirecting a controllably-movable sprayer to spray fluid onto the filter.

Pump assembly for a dishwasher appliance
11259683 · 2022-03-01 · ·

A dishwasher appliance includes a pump assembly for circulating wash fluid within a wash chamber and discharging wash fluid from a drain basin. The pump assembly includes a wash pump impeller coupled to a drive shaft and a drain pump impeller coupled to the drive shaft using a clutch, such as a centrifugal clutch. At speeds below a predetermined speed threshold, the clutch remains disengaged such that only the wash pump impeller rotates. When the speed of the drive shaft exceeds the predetermined speed threshold, the clutch engages causing the drain pump impeller to rotate and discharge wash fluid from the drain basin.

11262100 · 2022-03-01 ·

Systems and methods for providing hot water to a commercial dishwasher are provided. A first heat exchanger is provided in a first enclosure, and is used to heat water from a cold water source. The heated water is provided to the commercial dishwasher for use. A second heat exchanger is provided in a second enclosure, and is used to collect waste heat from the wastewater of the commercial dishwasher. A refrigerant coil loop passes through the first heat exchanger and the second heat exchanger, and allows for the use of the waste heat. The first heat exchanger is a condenser provided within a condenser chamber, the condenser connected to a compressor. The second heat exchanger is an evaporator within an evaporator chamber, the evaporator connected to an expansion valve.
