According to an aspect, a medical device includes an elongate member, a needle, and a suture. The needle is movably coupled to the elongate member. The suture is disposed within a lumen defined by the elongate member. The suture has a coupling member coupled to a first portion of the suture. The coupling member is configured to be coupled to a second portion of the suture.

Reusable Breast Implant Delivery Apparatus with External Fluid Pressure Delivery System
20230044611 · 2023-02-09 · ·

An implant delivery device suitable for delivery of breast implants features a reusable design that can be autoclaved to sterilize between uses. External fluid pressure is selectively delivered to a housing with the implant inside and can be regulated by the surgeon. The application of fluid pressure can be paused with the already applied pressure retained in the housing giving mechanical advantages for easier force application by the surgeon for enhanced control of the position of the implant within the housing and as it exits the outlet of the housing. The housing can be transparent to aid in observing the implant position and orientation as it moves through the housing. The outlet tip can be slant cut to allow for a fixed opening of the incision before delivering the implant to the surgical site. The housing cover is configured for rapid attachment with a seal that is amenable for autoclaving.

Implantable medical constructs formed by winding using winding support structures that can be flexible and can be integrated into the medical construct with biocompatible fiber(s) and/or yarn(s) and at least one continuous length collagen fiber. The implantable medical construct can include open suture anchor apertures formed using posts during a winding sequence.

IMPLANTABLE URINARY TRACT VALVE
20180000576 · 2018-01-04 ·

A urinary tract valve includes an expandable valve element positionable within a bladder of a patient via a urinary tract of the patient in a collapsed configuration. The expandable valve element is configured to transition from the collapsed configuration to an expanded configuration after being positioned within the bladder of the patient. The expandable valve element includes a ferromagnetic element that facilitates selective control of the expandable valve element with a magnetic field between an open position and a closed position when positioned within the bladder of the patient. In the closed position, the expandable valve element is configured to seal an internal urethral opening of the patient. In the open position, the expandable valve element is configured to allow urine to pass from the bladder of the patient, through an internal urethral opening of the patient and into a urethra of the patient.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR INCONTINENCE CONTROL
20180000981 · 2018-01-04 ·

A system for managing female incontinence includes a body of biocompatible material configured to fit between the labia minora and the vestibule floor, the body having a surface configured to occlude the urethral meatus, an adhesive carried on at least a first portion of the surface and configured to provide a sealing engagement between the body and the urethral meatus, and a substance carried by at least one of the body and the adhesive and configured for controlling the odor of the general vaginal-urethral area of a female.

INTERVERTEBRAL DISC AND INSERTION METHODS THEREFOR

A method of inserting an intervertebral disc implant into a disc space includes accessing a spinal segment having a first vertebral body, a second vertebral body and a disc space between the first and second vertebral bodies. The method includes securing a first pin to the first vertebral body and a second pin to the second vertebral body, using the first and second pins for distracting the disc space, and providing an inserter holding the intervertebral disc implant. The method also desirably includes engaging the inserter with the first and second pins, and advancing the inserter toward the disc space for inserting the intervertebral disc implant into the disc space, whereby the first and second pins align and guide the inserter toward the disc space.

FABRIC WITH BARBS COATED WITH A WATER-SOLUBLE MATERIAL
20180008390 · 2018-01-11 ·

The present invention relates to a prosthetic fabric comprising an arrangement of yarns defining at least two faces for said fabric, said fabric comprising, on at least one of its faces, one or more barbs that protrude outwards relative to said face, characterized in that said barbs are covered with a coating made of a water-soluble biocompatible material. The invention also relates to a process for obtaining such a fabric and to prostheses obtained from such a fabric.

PERSONALIZED PROSTHESIS AND METHODS OF USE
20180008437 · 2018-01-11 · ·

A personalized prosthesis for implantation at a treatment site of a patient includes a self-expanding mesh or membrane having collapsed and expanded configurations. The collapsed configuration is adapted to be delivered to the treatment site, and the expanded configuration engages the personalized prosthesis with the treatment site. The mesh or membrane is personalized to match the treatment site in the expanded configuration, and has an outer surface that substantially matches the treatment site shape and size. The self-expanding mesh or membrane forms a central lumen configured to allow blood or other body fluids to flow therethrough. Methods of manufacturing and delivery of the personalized prosthesis are also disclosed.
