Channel depth adjustment in memory systems
Memory devices, systems and methods are described, such as those including a dynamically configurable channel depth. Devices, systems and methods are described that adjust channel depth based on hardware and/or software requirements. One such device provides for virtual memory operations where a channel depth is adjusted for the same physical memory region responsive to requirements of different memory processes.
Setup procedures for an electronic device
In some embodiments, an electronic device can guide the user in setting up the device for the first time or after a factory reset. In some embodiments, an electronic device facilitates suggesting and installing applications on the electronic device during device setup. In some embodiments, an electronic device facilitates transferring settings and information from another electronic device during device setup.
Double-tap event detection device, system and method
Digital signal processing circuitry, in operation, determines, based on accelerometer data, a carry-position of a device. Double-tap detection parameters are set using the determined carry-position. Double-taps are detected using the set double-tap detection parameters. In response to detection of a double-tap, control signals, such as a flag or an interrupt signal, are generated and used to control operation of the device. For example, a device may enter a wake mode of operation in response to detection of a double-tap.
Serial bus signal conditioner for detecting initiation of or return to high-speed signaling
A serial bus signal conditioner circuit includes receiver circuitry, a mode identification circuit, and an edge-rate booster circuit. The receiver circuitry is configured to receive signals transmitted on a serial bus. The mode identification circuit is coupled to the receiver circuitry, and is configured to identify initiation of or return to high-speed signaling on the serial bus based on sequences of the signals transmitted on the serial bus. The edge-rate booster circuit is coupled to the mode identification circuit, and is configured to identify edges of a differential signal transmitted on the serial bus, and to supply a differential current to the serial bus based on identification of an edge of the differential signal.
Multiplication and accumulation (MAC) operator
A MAC operator includes a plurality of multipliers, a plurality of floating-point to fixed-point converters, an adder tree, an accumulator, and a fixed-point to floating-point converter. Each of the plurality of multipliers may perform a multiplication operation on first data and second data of a single-precision floating-point (FP32) format to output multiplication result data of the FP 32 format. Each of the plurality of floating-point to fixed-point converters may convert the FP 32 format into a fixed-point format. The adder tree may perform a first addition operation on the data of the fixed-point format. The accumulator may perform an accumulation operation on the data output from the adder tree. And the fixed-point to floating-point converter may convert the data of the fixed-point format into data of the FP32 format.
Implicit integrity for cryptographic computing
In one embodiment, a processor includes a memory hierarchy and a core coupled to the memory hierarchy. The memory hierarchy stores encrypted data, and the core includes circuitry to access the encrypted data stored in the memory hierarchy, decrypt the encrypted data to yield decrypted data, perform an entropy test on the decrypted data, and update a processor state based on a result of the entropy test. The entropy test may include determining a number of data entities in the decrypted data whose values are equal to one another, determining a number of adjacent data entities in the decrypted data whose values are equal to one another, determining a number of data entities in the decrypted data whose values are equal to at least one special value from a set of special values, or determining a sum of n highest data entity value frequencies.
Variable-length instruction buffer management
A vector processor is disclosed including a variety of variable-length instructions. Computer-implemented methods are disclosed for efficiently carrying out a variety of operations in a time-conscious, memory-efficient, and power-efficient manner. Methods for more efficiently managing a buffer by controlling the threshold based on the length of delay line instructions are disclosed. Methods for disposing multi-type and multi-size operations in hardware are disclosed. Methods for condensing look-up tables are disclosed. Methods for in-line alteration of variables are disclosed.
Method and system for processing commands in storage devices to improve quality of service
Operation of a non-volatile memory (NVM) storage module may comprise receiving a plurality of commands as associated with a plurality of priority-based queues from a host-memory. A received command is evaluated in accordance with a priority associated with the queue storing the command and a size of the command. The evaluated command is split into a plurality of sub-commands, each of the sub-commands having a size determined in accordance with the evaluation. A predetermined number of hardware resources are allocated for each of the evaluated command based on at least the size of each of the sub-commands to thereby enable a processing of the evaluated command based on the allocated resources. Quality of service (QoS) for the evaluated-command may thus be augmented.
Memory system, computing system, and methods thereof for cache invalidation with dummy address space
A memory management system includes a cache invalidation logic configured to invalidate, based a cache invalidation event, cache entries within a cache memory by having each cache entry, of the cache entries within the cache memory, reference a respective dummy address from among dummy addresses within a dummy address space, wherein the cache memory is assigned to a memory, the memory has a memory address space associated therewith to provide access the memory, and each dummy address of the dummy addresses within the dummy address space is distinct from any address of the memory address space.
System, apparatus and method for configurable control of asymmetric multi-threading (SMT) on a per core basis
In one embodiment, a processor includes: a plurality of cores each comprising a multi-threaded core to concurrently execute a plurality of threads; and a control circuit to concurrently enable at least one of the plurality of cores to operate in a single-threaded mode and at least one other of the plurality of cores to operate in a multi-threaded mode. Other embodiments are described and claimed.
