Pressure relieving panel for a caning jar
The Pressure Relieving Panel for a Caning Jar is a device that allows for the convenient use of a standard sized caning jar to be used for anaerobic, lactic acid fermentation, i.e. making homemade sauerkraut, pickles, or other ferments. The device is configured as a replacement, sealing panel or lid for a standard sized caning jar that allows the CO2 gas from the fermentation process to escape from the jar. This device makes use of a one-way, pressure-relieving check valve incorporated into the sealing panel that prevents outside air (oxygen) from getting back into the jar where the anaerobic fermentation process is taking place. The pressure relieving, sealing panel(s) of the instant invention do not require regular monitoring or refilling as required for water type, air lock devices.

[Solution] By bringing about self-digestion of fruit at 65° C. or below, preferably at 45 to 60° C., the organic acid concentration is improved, and solubilization of pectin is promoted, making possible the manufacture of salt-free self-digested fruits and extracts thereof having good physical properties and storage properties, as well as making possible the manufacture of salt-free processed food products, cosmetics, or fermented food products, utilizing salt-free seasonings containing comparable concentrations of pectin and organic acids, or these salt-free self-digested fruits and salt-free self-digested fruit extracts.

The wall includes a water separating element for separating a mixture of water vapor and liquid water, wherein the water separating element includes a sieve portion adapted to separate the mixture of water vapor and liquid water, characterized in that the sieve portion comprises holes whose sizes are in the range of 25-35 microns.
