Mattress assembly with segmented border wires
11547217 · 2023-01-10 ·

Disclosed is a mattress assembly having a spring or foam core structure and reduced-sized parts. Spaced along the mattress top and bottom border are a plurality of bands having through-openings. Border wire segments extend through the through-openings and are joined end-to-end by releasable connectors to form a continuous border wire providing edge support. Butterfly springs having tube-like bands for receiving the border wire segments prevent sagging. In spring mattresses, the bands, which may be rings or a similar type part, are carried at the top and bottom of the outer springs. In foam mattresses, the bands are formed by a plurality of loops formed in a continuous folded strip fixed by adhesive or other means to the mattress border walls. Two such mattresses may be joined together by interweaving a flexible cord through the bands of adjoining mattresses. The mattress assembly is completed by encasing in an outer cover.

Ultra-low friction materials for lubricating surfaces, devices therewith, and methods of manufacture and use thereof

A polymeric material mixture comprising a fluorine-containing polymer, a siloxane polymer, and at least two polymer processing additives (PPA), wherein the at least two polymer processing additives have different chemistries. For example, there can be a flexible coextruded pipe for providing a protective housing for cables, fluids, sludge or solids, the pipe comprising a pair of telescopically related inner and outer layers, where said inner layer is lubricated with the polymeric material mixture.

BED SHEET ASSEMBLY

Present embodiments relate to abed sheet assembly (20). More particularly, but without limitation, present embodiments relate to bed sheet assemblies which connect to a mattress (12) or mattress cover (40) and which defines a fitted sheet (22) and a second sheet (24) connected to the fitted sheet.

INTEGRATED MATTRESS SHEET AND WATERPROOF MATTRESS COVER
20230210273 · 2023-07-06 ·

A unitary sheet that is provided with a waterproof underside layer. The sheet is used to cover a mattress, changing pad or similar surface to be occupied by a baby or a child. The upper layer of the sheet is a fabric (e.g. cotton) that provides comfort to a baby or child resting on the sheet, and it also provides waterproofing so that spillage or other waste matter does not seep through the sheet and onto the underlying mattress.

Mattress Top Panel and Mattress Assemblies with Improved Airflow

Vertically lapped nonwoven material is used without cross lapped nonwoven to provide enhanced breathability and comfort in mattresses by replacing foam material in one or more of, including all of top panel quilts, layers underneath the top panel quilts, and in side blocks which surround spring supports. The vertically lapped nonwoven may provide advantages in terms of cost, manufacturing ease, robustness in mattress design, while at the same time providing the user with a much more comfortable sleeping experience.

GROUNDED MATTRESS

Systems and methods are provided for grounding a person lying on a mattress. Such grounding may connect a user's body to the earth and enable electrical discharge off the human body. The systems and methods may include a mattress pad having conductive inner and outer layers. The mattress pad may also include an insulating interior layer having a flame-retardant layer, a first foam layer, and a second foam layer. The mattress pad may also include a conductive edge ribbon configured to electrically couple the inner and outer layers, as well as a grounding terminal. A grounding cable may be realized to ground the inner layer, outer layer, and conductive edge ribbon. The grounded mattress then grounds the human body, allowing it to get closer to a natural electrical potential. This can reduce static electricity, static shocks and enhance quality sleep. The mattress will also improve shielding from electromagnetic fields (EMFs).

REMOVABLE MATTRESS TOPPER WITH VIBRATING UNITS
20230210272 · 2023-07-06 ·

A removable mattress topper for a mattress assembly is provided that includes a foam layer including one or more vibrating units. The removable mattress topper includes a cover encapsulating the foam layer. The cover includes a top panel, a bottom panel, and sidewalls extending between the top and bottom panels, wherein the bottom panel comprises a zippered portion extending about at least a portion of a peripheral edge of the bottom panel. Also disclosed are mattress assemblies including the removable mattress topper, wherein the mattress assembly includes a mattress core and a cover encapsulating the mattress core, wherein the cover includes a top panel and a zippered portion about a peripheral edge of the top panel. The zippered portion of the mattress core is configured to mechanically engage the zippered portion of the removable mattress topper.

MATTRESS WITH VARIABLE FRICTION FLAME BARRIER CAP AND RELATED METHOD
20220408936 · 2022-12-29 ·

An improved mattress FR cap structure incorporating skirting with zones of different friction character. The skirting incorporates a first zone positioned for placement across upper portions of the mattress' vertical sides and a second zone positioned for placement over lower edges of the vertical sides. The first zone forms a first high friction interface with the underlying mattress foam or other material providing substantially stable, fixed positioning between the first zone and the underlying material restricting relative movement. The second zone provides a low friction interface with the underlying mattress foam or other material permitting relative movement between the second zone and the underlying material during compression and/or recovery. The FR cap may also include a third zone positioned for placement adjacent to the second zone for disposition at the underside of the mattress in the final construction and providing a second high friction interface with the underlying material.
