FALL ARREST DEVICE
The present invention provides a fall arrest device comprising: a. a bracket having a first engagement element and a second engagement element aligned with the first engagement element; b. a cantilever element comprising: i. a first bracket engagement portion for fixed engagement with the first engagement element; ii. a second bracket engagement portion aligned with the first bracket engagement portion, the second bracket engagement portion for pivotable engagement with the second engagement element; iii. a load application point located distal to the first and second bracket engagement portions; and iv. a first deformable element located between the load application point and the first bracket engagement portion, the deformable element being dimensioned for plastic shock absorbing deformation or fracture on application of a predetermined load at the load application point.
Firefighter rescue system
A firefighter rescue system includes a pair of clasp members connected to opposing ends of a longitudinally extended and flexible harness. The system further includes a pair of handles respectively secured to the harness in longitudinally spaced relationship. The flexible harness includes first and second strap members. The first strap member is coupled to one of the pair of clasp members on one end thereof, and affixed on an opposing end to a length adjusting mechanism. The second strap member has a first end thereof coupled to the other of the pair of clasp members and an opposing second end threaded through length adjusting mechanism. By that arrangement, a distance between the first end of the second strap member and the length adjusting mechanism is adjustably settable.
Suspension trauma relief strap assembly for use with a full body harness
A preferred embodiment suspension trauma relief strap assembly for use with a full body harness includes a pair of straps connectable in two configurations. The first configuration is formed by engaging a hook of one strap with one of a plurality of closed loop arrangements of the other strap to form a sling upon which a person donning the full body harness may stand. The second configuration is formed by engaging the hook of the one strap with one of the plurality of closed loop arrangements of the one strap and engaging the hook of the other strap with one of the plurality of closed loop arrangements of the other strap to form two slings upon which a person donning the full body harness may stand.
Bendable housing for fall protection locking system
A locking system is provided for fall protection. The locking system includes a housing. The housing defines a guide path through which the housing is slideably attached to a guide member. The locking system also includes a braking lever having a braking end. The braking lever is configured to rotate so as to allow the braking end to engage the guide member. The guide path defines at least one bending slot configured to allow the housing to deform in response to a predetermined amount of force being applied by the guide member upon the housing. A housing for a locking system is also provided.
FALL ARREST INDICATOR
A fall arrest indicator is disclosed for indicating whether a fall arrest event has occurred, the fall arrest indicator includes an actuator, the actuator being reconfigurable between a first configuration and a second configuration; an electronic alarm circuit comprising an alarm for indicating a fall arrest event; and, activating means, wherein the activating means is arranged to reconfigure the alarm circuit between an inactive state in which the alarm is inactive and an operative state in which the alarm is activated, in dependence of a reconfiguration of the actuator between the first and second configurations.
Tether System for a Safety Line
A tether system for a safety line has an elongate guide track and stay elements arranged to move along the guide track and be carried at spaced positions along the length of a tether line. The system is typically employed in a fall arrest or protection system mounted to a structure, having an ascent/descent ladder fixed to the structure, the system including a self-retracting safety line device including a safety line, mounted at height.
Device for carrying articles of equipment
A carabiner for carrying equipment is disclosed. The carabiner includes a hook assembly including a generally C-shaped body having an opening which is closed by an openable gate. It further includes a mounting assembly, which includes a mounting boss to which the body is releasably connected, and one or more fasteners to connect the mounting boss to a base component. The mounting boss may include a bore through which the body passes, the body being a close fit in the bore, such that the body can pivot respect to the boss about an axis of the bore. Control components may be provided that serve to resist movement of the body within the bore. The carabiner may be installed in a harness, by connecting the base to a component of the harness for example by passing a fastener through a hole in the component.
Safety Harness Assembly
A safety harness assembly for facilitating a passenger on a motorcycle to hang onto a driver of the motorcycle includes a belt that may be worn by a driver thereby facilitating the belt to be gripped by a passenger. A harness is provided and the harness may be worn by the driver. The harness is removably coupled to the belt when the belt is worn. Thus, the harness may be gripped by the passenger.
FALL ARREST DEVICE
A fall arrest device for blocking a rope when a relative speed between the rope and the device reaches a threshold value comprises a blocking mechanism for blocking the rope, and a trigger mechanism configured for triggering an activation lever of the blocking mechanism for activating the blocking mechanism for blocking the rope when the speed reaches the threshold value, wherein the trigger mechanism comprises a drive axis rotated by the rope upon relative movement between the rope and the fall arrest device, the drive axis carrying a centrifugal weight holder, wherein at least one centrifugal weight is held acting against a restoring force of a spring, wherein the at least one centrifugal weight is movable between an inactive position and a trigger position for triggering the activation lever when the speed reaches the threshold value. The centrifugal weight holder is arranged rotatably relative to a release gear that comprises a toothing engagable by an actuator member of the at least one centrifugal weight, when the at least one centrifugal weight is in the trigger position.
SHOCK ABSORBER FOR FALL PROTECTION LOCKING SYSTEM
Locking systems and method of manufacturing the same are provided. A locking system for fall protection includes a braking lever. The braking includes a shock absorber. The shock absorber includes a plurality of coils. The shock absorber also includes a plurality of breakaway interfaces coupling the plurality of coils together. Each of the plurality of breakaway interfaces are configured to decouple two of the plurality of coils at a different force. At least one of the breakaway interfaces defines at least one deformable finger defined on one of the plurality of coils of the shock absorber interfacing with another coil of the shock absorber.
