A swing training device for improving the proper swing of ball sports including but not limited to baseball and softball. The swing training device has an elongated barrel having a substantially quasi-stadium cross-sectional shape connected to a handle portion. The hitting surface of the barrel is one of the two opposing curved surfaces of the circular segments of the quasi-stadium cross-sectional shape. The swing training device may be a modified regulation wood bat that is modified via diametrically opposing longitudinal tangential section cuts so that the un-cut curved hitting surface is oriented such that the grain runs against the ball at contact.

A kinetic motion learning device includes an information storage unit configured to associate and store in advance a pitching motion video and pitching trajectory information for a plurality of pitches actually delivered by a pitcher on a potential opponent team, and is configured to read a set of the pitching motion video and the pitching trajectory information stored in the information storage unit, output the pitching motion video being read to a projector, output the pitching trajectory information being read to a pitching machine, and control motion timings of the projector and the pitching machine so that a time of ball release of the pitcher in the pitching motion video displayed on a screen and a time of the pitching machine launching the ball with the pitching trajectory information match. The projector is configured to project the pitching motion video onto the screen so that the pitching motion video is displayed on the screen at a motion timing controlled by the kinetic motion learning device. The screen includes a hole through which a ball launched by the pitching machine can pass at a position of ball release of the pitcher in the pitching motion video displayed.

A basketball training system includes a user interface and a ball delivery machine. The user interface presents a visual representation of a portion of a basketball court that is free of indicia representing predetermined ball delivery locations on the basketball court. The user interface receives user inputs relative to the visual representation that identify selected ball delivery locations desired by the user. The ball delivery machine is responsive to the user interface for delivering basketballs to the selected ball delivery locations.

A restraining device used to train a swimmer to swim or used for low impact exercise or physical therapy by keeping the user stationary in a pool and allows the swimmer to switch between a face up and a face down position without stopping, and does not require a large amount of space to utilize nor does it require pool modifications for use, and is easy to use and move.

Systems and methods for tracking off of the dribble shooting statistics are provided. An ejector launches basketballs to a user selected subset of pass receipt locations spaced apart about a basketball playing area. A controller receives data from an interface representing the user selected subset of the pass receipt locations and certain of the pass receipt locations in the subset where the player intends to perform a pre-shooting basketball move immediately before receiving the pass or making the shooting attempt and commands the ejector to launch at least one basketball to each of the pass receipt locations in the subset. Data is received from a detector indicating made basketball shots, and a performance report is generated with feedback for each of the pass receipt locations in the subset with a qualifier associated with at least some of the feedback indicating off of the dribble shooting.

A golf aid for preventing improper wrist bending during a golf stroke. The golf aid provides a wrist wrap with a stabilizer the moves between a retracted position and an extended position spanning the carpal bones, preventing anterior bending of the wrist of a wearer. In the retracted position, the stabilizer is housed in a pocket of the wrist wrap and does not impinge or obstruct the freedom of movement of the wrist.

A sports training system includes an array of break beam sensors. Each sensor is configured to detect a passage of an object, such as a hockey puck, between adjacent posts and provide information for the passage to a controller communicatively attached to the array of sensors. A mobile application is configured to receive information from the controller and provide, for presentation to a user, passage statistics for the passages completed by one or more players. Servers are located in at least one data center. The servers are configured to receive and store the passage statistics and to provide access to the passage statistics.

To provide a device for measuring a time of passage that is capable of sensing passage of the torso more accurately than a photoelectric cell while maintaining the ease of use of a photoelectric cell, passage of a runner is sensed by causing the upper portion of the body of the runner to be broadly illuminated by infrared light, visible light, and/or other such electromagnetic waves, and by detecting light reflected from large part(s) of the body of the runner.

A training apparatus for baseball training includes a base and training attachments that may be attached to the base to allow a user to practice a variety of training techniques. The base may be modular so that it has an adjustable width and disassembles into separate components. At least one training attachment is designed to train a batter to properly incorporate thrust into a swinging motion when swinging a baseball bat. The attachment has a pivotally mounted member with a contact element attached to the top end of the member. The member pivots forward and downward when the user's knee contacts the contact element when properly executing a swinging motion. Thus, the training attachment provides direct and immediate feedback to the user regarding the user's batting form. Other training attachments may be used for hitting balls and for pitching to targets strategically placed around a strike zone.

An instructional device for an instructor to use with a student for downhill skiing is disclosed. In use, the instructor skis to the side and behind the student skier. A curved extension member is provided at the end of a shaft and is placed against the student skier's midsection to provide stability and balance for the student. Two student handles can be attached to the extension member. The student handles serve two purposes. The device can be easily converted for use either from the student's right side or left side, depending on the instructor's preference. Second, the student handles can be added as the student progresses to help correctly position the student's hands and develop good posture for the eventual use of ski poles. An instructor handle is located along the shaft. The instructor handle may be adjustable along the length of the shaft.
