Reinforced removable thermal insulation (ASTI)
The reinforced removable thermal insulation (PARTS) contains the heat-insulating blocks joined among themselves placed on an external surface of the heat-isolated equipment. The Asti block is filled with heat-insulating material and consists of a reinforcing frame lattice sheathed on all sides with facing stainless sheets. For mutual detachable connection of heat-insulating blocks between themselves the lock latch is used. When using the proposed lock-latch, a guaranteed tightness is provided, the disclosure of thermal gaps between the side faces of thermal insulation blocks from the inaccessible internal bases of thermal insulation at temperature fluctuations is excluded, fitting works and welding of tension locks on the surface of their blocks in place during installation and Assembly work on the equipment are excluded. Asti blocks are able to save the weight of stainless steel, increase the strength of thermal insulation blocks by 2.56 times, significantly reduce the cost of their manufacture.
Multicorrosion protection system for decorative parts with chrome finish
The invention relates to a corrosion protection layer system for metal surfaces, said layer system comprising as the two top most layers: a) a discontinuous nickel-phosphorus layer and b) a chromium layer plated from a trivalent chromium electrolyte solution, as well as to a method of producing such a layer system. The inventive layer system is capable to combine the good corrosion resistance of the nickel-phosphorus layer against sodium chloride with the protective power of the chromium layer from the trivalent plating process against magnesium and calcium salts, especially without the need for any post-treatment.
Self-standing sandwich structure including at least one capacitive sensor member and/or at least one heater member for automotive vehicle applications
A self-standing sandwich structure includes at least one capacitive sensor member and/or at least one heater member for automotive vehicle application. The self-standing sandwich structure includes an upper protective layer that is attached, for manufacturing and storage purposes, to a carrier film member of sufficiently low surface energy for enabling separating the carrier film member and the upper protective layer in a non-destructive manner, a lower protective layer, a bottom adhesive layer that is attached to the lower protective layer, and at least an upper electrically conductive layer arranged between the upper protective layer and the lower protective layer.
Patterned glass articles and methods of making the same
A patterned article that includes: an alkali silicate glass substrate comprising a thickness and a primary surface, the substrate having a bulk composition; a patterned region defined by at least a portion of the primary surface; and a compressive stress region that extends from the at least a portion of the primary surface to a first depth within the substrate. The patterned region comprises a surface roughness (Ra) from about 1 nm to about 600 nm and at least one of a plurality of protrusions and a plurality of depressions. Further, each of the compressive stress region and the patterned region comprises a concentration of at least one alkali metal ion that is different than the concentration of the at least one alkali metal ion in the bulk composition.
Metal sheet having low friction coefficient and low waviness
A metal sheet having a low friction coefficient and a low waviness. Multiple round or roughly-round small pits are distributed on the surface of the metal sheet. The diameter of a single pit ranges from 30 μm to 150 μm, and the overlap between adjacent pits is lower than 10%. On the surface of the metal sheet where the pits are located, the proportion of the area of pits per square millimeter of surface area is greater than 30%, and the difference between the quantities of pits in any unit square millimeter is less than 20%. By means of the proper design of surface microstructure, the friction coefficient and the waviness can be effectively reduced, thereby improving the forming and painting performance of the material.
Composite structures, composite storage tanks, vehicles including such composite storage tanks, and related systems and methods
A composite storage tank may include a wall structure including at least three regions including an inner region, an outer region, and at least one permeation barrier. Another region may be optionally incorporated for venting potential permeation of fluids. The at least one permeation barrier and/or the venting layer may be strategically positioned between the inner region and the outer region to reduce or at least partially prevent fluid permeation of the inner region or the outer region. A vehicle may include such a composite storage tank. Methods of forming a composite fluid storage tank may include forming an inner composite region, applying a permeation barrier to an outer surface of the inner composite region, forming an outer composite region, and curing the inner composite region and the outer composite region with the permeation barrier to form the composite fluid storage tank.
