A drilling system configured to install a tap assembly into a ship skin is disclosed. The drilling system comprises a remotely-operated underwater vehicle and a drilling assembly configured to be operated by the remotely-operated underwater vehicle. The drilling assembly comprises a frame comprising an attachment element configured to hold the drilling assembly to a surface of the ship skin. The drilling assembly further comprises a drill actuation system comprising a linear actuator attached to the frame and a rotary actuator, wherein an actuation of the linear actuator is configured to move the rotary actuator relative to the frame to install the tap assembly into the ship skin by driving the tap assembly with the rotary actuator and the linear actuator.

A drilling system configured to install a tap assembly into a ship skin is disclosed. The drilling system comprises a remotely-operated underwater vehicle and a drilling assembly configured to be operated by the remotely-operated underwater vehicle. Additive manufactured water resistant closed-cell lattice structure for marine hull cavities
Apparatus and associated methods relate to using an additive (material deposition) process to incrementally form a closed-cell lattice structure formed as a unitary body in the shape of a marine hull cavity, the unit cells of the closed-cell lattice structure are substantially hollow. In an illustrative example, a method may include (a) forming a closed-cell lattice structure through additive manufacture, the hull cavity material may be bonded to an upper manufactured liner and a lower manufactured liner through lamination or mechanical connection. Unit cells of the closed-cell lattice structure may include hollow voids filled with gases. Providing the additive manufactured closed-cell lattice structure with a unitary body and hollow voids to trap gases may further advantageously promote the buoyancy and reduce the degeneration of a marine hull.

An assembly for a watercraft according to an example of the present disclosure includes, among other things, a flotation device including an elongated slot and a mount that has first and second flanges extending outwardly from a bracket body. The first flange is configured to be mechanically attached to a frame, and the second flange is slideably received in the slot to secure the flotation device. A method of assembly for a watercraft is also disclosed.

An assembly for a watercraft according to an example of the present disclosure includes, among other things, a flotation device including an elongated slot and a mount that has first and second flanges extending outwardly from a bracket body. METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A HULL OF A WATERBORNE VESSEL
The invention concerns the field of shipbuilding. Claimed is a method for manufacturing a hull of a floating craft, during which a shell is applied on installed templates copying the contours of the hull of the floating craft, a reinforcement is applied on the formed surface, thereafter a composite matrix is applied. The surface of the shell can be additionally covered from the inside with a layer of liquid rubber. Thereafter, on the resulting surface is applied a reinforcement and a composite matrix.
Marine lifting apparatus
A catamaran lifting apparatus is disclosed for lifting objects in a marine environment. The apparatus includes first and second vessels that are spaced apart during use. A first frame spans between the vessels. A second frame spans between the vessels. The frames are spaced apart and connected to the vessels in a configuration that spaces the vessels apart. The first frame connects to the first vessel with a universal joint and to the second vessel with a hinged connection. The second frame connects to the second vessel with a universal joint and to the first vessel with a hinged or pinned connection. Each of the frames provides a space under the frame and in between the barges that enables a package to be lifted and/or a marine vessel to be positioned in between the barges and under the frames. In this fashion, an object that has been salvaged from the seabed can be placed upon the marine vessel that is positioned in between the barges and under the frames.

A catamaran lifting apparatus is disclosed for lifting objects in a marine environment. The apparatus includes first and second vessels that are spaced apart during use. A shallow draft sampling raft including a bow, and a stern, in which the bow is an opposite end of the raft from the stern. The raft also includes a top surface, a bottom surface, and a plurality of longitudinal stringers. The plurality of longitudinal stringers are attached to an inner face the bottom surface and run from the bow to the stern. A top surface is also attached to the longitudinal stringers.
