GLASS ARTICLE AND METHOD OF PRODUCING GLASS ARTICLE
A method of producing a glass article includes holding a carrier having a circular shape, in which a glass substrate having a circular shape is retained, with an upper surface plate and a lower surface plate; and polishing the glass substrate by rotating the carrier with respect to the upper surface plate and the lower surface plate, to obtain the glass article. The glass substrate is disposed in the carrier such that, in a top plan view, a center of the carrier is included in a region of the glass substrate, and a center of the glass substrate is shifted from the center of the carrier.
METHODS FOR STRENGTHENING EDGES OF LAMINATED GLASS ARTICLES AND LAMINATED GLASS ARTICLES FORMED THEREFROM
Methods for strengthening edges of a laminated glass article comprising a glass core layer positioned between a first glass clad layer and a second glass clad layer are disclosed. The methods may comprise polishing the cut edges of the laminated glass article with a slurry of polishing media applied to the edges of the laminated glass article with brushes. An edge strength of the laminated glass article is greater than or equal to about 400 MPa after polishing.

GLASS-BASED ARTICLE WITH ENGINEERED STRESS DISTRIBUTION AND METHOD OF MAKING SAME
Disclosed herein are glass-based articles having a first surface having an edge, wherein a maximum optical retardation of the first surface is at the edge and the maximum optical retardation is less than or equal to about 40 nm and wherein the optical retardation decreases from the edge toward a central region of the first surface, the central region having a boundary defined by a distance from the edge toward a center point of the first surface, wherein the distance is ½ of the shortest distance from the edge to the center point.

Thermoformed cover glass for an electronic device
Glass articles and methods for producing glass articles for a portable electronic device are disclosed. Properties of the glass articles, such as cover members, are improved through chemical strengthening, thermoforming, or a combination thereof. The glass articles may include barrier layers to prevent diffusion of ions between glass layers of the glass article, internal compressive stress regions, or a combination thereof.
Glass article and method for producing the same
A method for producing a glass article is provided. The method for producing a glass article, the method including preparing a glass to be processed, the glass comprising a glass bulk and a low-refractive surface layer disposed on the glass bulk, and etching away the low-refractive surface layer to form an etched glass, wherein the etching away the low-refractive surface layer comprises: cleaning the low-refractive surface layer with an acid solution; and cleaning the low-refractive surface layer with a base solution after the cleaning it with the acid solution.
