Thread Conditioner and Cutter
A thread conditioner and cutter includes (a) a base unit with (i) a planar divider for supporting a thread conditioning composition; (ii) a plurality of upper sidewall segments spaced apart from each other to define upper slots extending upwardly from the planar divider as well as defining an upper cavity of the base unit; (iii) a lower sidewall extending downwardly from the planar divider thereby defining an underside cavity, wherein the lower sidewall has a plurality of opposing thread notches at an upper edge thereof at a lower end of the upper slots of the upper sidewall segments as well as a pair of opposing lower slots extending upwardly from a lower edge of the lower sidewall; and (iv) a cutting blade disposed at one of said opposing slots at a first distance from the lower edge of the lower sidewall and wherein the slot opposed to the slot with the cutting blade extends a second distance from the lower edge of the lower sidewall which is greater than the first distance from the lower edge of the lower sidewall of the cutting blade.
Method for stitching vehicle interior components and components formed from the method
A method of applying stitching to an interior component is provided herein. The method including the steps of: a) penetrating the outer skin layer, the substrate layer and the intermediary layer with an awl to form a piercing therethrough; b) retracting the awl from the outer skin layer, the substrate layer and the intermediary layer; c) inserting a needle through the piercing through the substrate layer, the intermediary layer and the outer skin layer to grasp a thread positioned on the outer skin layer; d) pulling the thread through the outer skin layer, the intermediary layer and the substrate layer; e) advancing the interior component to another position, wherein a backside of the substrate layer is free of obstructions; and f) repeating steps a-e until a predetermined amount of stitches are applied to the interior component.

NEEDLEPOINT FINISHING METHOD
A method for needlepoint finishing comprising trimming a canvas completed with a needlepoint stitched design leaving an edge portion spaced from a stitched area of the canvas to leave an unstitched area around at least a portion of a periphery of the canvas, cutting a non-paper based, substantially non-absorbent, rigid support to a desired size, wrapping a fabric composed of softer material than the rigid support around the support and attaching the fabric to the canvas. The rigid support restricts bending and prevents degradation of the rigid portion and mounted needlepoint canvas.
