CARBON DIOXIDE OR HYDROGEN SULFIDE SEQUESTRATION IN A SUBTERRANEAN RESERVOIR USING SORBENT PARTICLES
Methods are provided for sequestering a pollutant gas of carbon dioxide (CO.sub.2) gas and/or hydrogen sulfide (H.sub.2S) gas in a subterranean reservoir. In one method, a carrier gas containing pollutant-sorbent particles (e.g., nanoparticles) is pumped into the subterranean reservoir, the pollutant-sorbent particles attach to the subterranean reservoir, the pollutant gas is pumped into the subterranean reservoir, and the pollutant-sorbent particles attached to the subterranean reservoir adsorb the pollutant gas. In another method, pollutant gas is introduced into a carrier liquid containing pollutant-sorbent particles to produce a pollutant-rich carrier liquid, the pollutant-rich carrier liquid is pumped into the subterranean reservoir, and the pollutant-rich carrier liquid is allowed to remain in the subterranean reservoir. A modifier gas or modifier liquid may be injected into the subterranean reservoir to modify a condition in the subterranean reservoir and thereby cause the pollutant-sorbent particles to release the sequestered pollutant gas.
BUMPER SPRING
A plunger lift system includes a bumper assembly to reduce the impact of the plunger at the bottom of the well and in some circumstances to reconfigure the plunger for the plunger's next ascent. The bumper assembly has a spring, a mandrel, an impact head, and a flow cage. The impact head and mandrel are constructed from a single piece of material thereby removing a joint between the impact head and mandrel. The unitary impact head/mandrel is connected to the flow cage using a first cooperating shoulder at the lower end of the unitary impact head/mandrel and a second cooperating shoulder within the flow cage. The first cooperating shoulder and the second cooperating shoulder are held in place with respect to each other by a force provided by the spring.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR GENERATION OF HYDROGEN BY IN-SITU (SUBSURFACE) SERPENTINIZATION AND CARBONIZATION OF MAFIC OR ULTRAMAFIC ROCK
Apparatuses, systems, and methods are disclosed for producing and liberating hydrogen gas and sequestering carbon dioxide through sequential serpentinization and carbonation (mineralization) reactions conducted in situ via one or more wellbores that at least partially traverse subterranean geological formations having large concentrations of mafic igneous rock, ultramafic igneous rock, or a combination thereof.
Method for pumping foamed fluids into a well bore or subterranean formation
A method for pumping a liquid-gas mixture into a subsurface well includes introducing gas into a liquid at a first pressure to generate a mixture. The mixture is pumped through a first positive displacement pump to a second pressure greater than the first pressure. The mixture at the second pressure is pumped through at least a second positive displacement pump to a third pressure greater than the second pressure. The mixture is moved into the subsurface well at at least the third pressure.

Systems and methods for selecting and performing gas deliverability tests
Systems and methods for selecting and performing gas deliverability tests are disclosed. In one embodiment, a method of performing a gas deliverability test includes drilling a well, operating the well to produce gas, determining a sustainability of the well, and determining at least one of a shut-in bottom hole pressure and pressure build-up of the well and a geochemical analysis of the well. The method further includes selecting a deliverability test based at least in part on a duration of an operation of the well, a sustainability of the well, and at least one of the shut-in bottom hole pressure, the pressure build-up and the geochemical analysis of liquids of the well. The method also includes applying the deliverability test to the well.
Inspection tool for a perforating gun segment
An inspection tool and associated methods for testing physical and electrical properties of a perforating gun and sending the perforating gun to a wellbore site with at least one of an electrical property and a dimension that has been previously verified. The perforating gun may be received in a perforating gun holder positioned between a first connecting portion and second connecting portion. The first connecting portion may be moved from a first position to a second position at which the at least one of the electrical property and the dimension is measured. Upon verification that the at least one of the electrical property and the dimension is within a predetermined specification, the perforating gun may be sent to the wellbore site.
Signal displays
A method for determining and providing signal displays is provided. The method can include receiving data characterizing signal values. The data can be received from a sensor monitoring an asset, such as a rotating machinery asset. The method can also include receiving data characterizing a threshold trigger level associated with the asset. The method can further include determining a signal display for the asset. The method can also include providing the signal display in a graphical user interface. Monitoring systems for monitoring industrial assets and providing signal displays corresponding to an operation of the industrial assets are also provided.
Lubricating downhole-type rotating machines
A downhole-type device includes an electric machine. The electric machine includes an electrical rotor configured to couple with a device to drive or be driven by the electric machine. An electrical stator surrounds the electric rotor. The electric stator includes a seal configured to isolate stator windings from an outside, downhole environment. An inner surface of the seal and an outer surface of the electric rotor define an annulus exposed to the outside environment. A bearing couples the electric rotor to the electric stator. A lubrication system is fluidically coupled to the downhole-type device. The lubrication system includes a topside pressure pump and a downhole-type distribution manifold configured to be used within a wellbore. The distribution manifold is fluidically connected to the topside pressure pump and the bearing to receive a flow of lubricant from the topside pressure pump.
Single use setting tool for actuating a tool in a wellbore
A single use setting tool and associated method for actuating a tool in a wellbore may include an inner piston having a piston proximal end, a piston distal end, and a piston annular wall that defines a piston cavity. The setting tool may include a gas-generating power charge positioned within the piston cavity. The power charge may extend along a longitudinal axis from a proximal end to a distal end and have at least two different widths along its length. The power charge may further include a tapered portion. The setting tool may further include a piston extension connected to the piston distal end. The inner piston may further include a shear element groove circumferentially extending in an outer surface of the inner piston, for receiving a shear element.
