Catalyst casing-integrated exhaust manifold and method for manufacturing same
A catalyst casing-integrated exhaust manifold (manifold converter) includes an exhaust manifold section and a catalyst casing section. The catalyst casing section includes an approximately cylindrically-shaped casing main body holding a catalyst carrier, a conical part interconnecting the casing main body and the exhaust manifold section, and an outlet side shell connected to a downstream side of the casing main body. The exhaust manifold section and the catalyst casing section are formed by pressing a tailored blank by welding at least two metal blanks different in kind of materials and/or having different in thicknesses. In addition, the exhaust manifold section and the conical part of the catalyst casing section are formed of the same metal blank. The catalyst casing-integrated exhaust manifold and method of manufacturing same can reduce a number of components etc., thereby saving manufacturing cost.
EXHAUST SYSTEM, ESPECIALLY FOR AN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE OF A VEHICLE
An exhaust system, especially for an internal combustion engine of a vehicle, includes an exhaust gas-carrying duct (14) and a reactant injection device (20) for injecting reactant (R) into exhaust gas (A) flowing in the exhaust gas-carrying duct (14). Downstream of the reactant injection device (20), a mixer device (22) supports the mixing of reactant (R) injected by the reactant injection device (20) with exhaust gas (A) flowing in the exhaust gas-carrying duct (14). Downstream of the reactant injection device (20) and upstream of the mixer device (22), a reactant heating device (24) extends in the exhaust gas-carrying duct (14). The exhaust gas (A) flows in and reactant (R) injected through the reactant injection device (20) flow around the heating device (24).
SCRUBBER OUTLET ASSEMBLY
Disclosed is a scrubber outlet assembly, the scrubber outlet assembly comprising a pipe having an inner surface, wherein the inner surface has a first portion made from a first electrically conductive material, a second portion made from a second electrically conductive material dissimilar to the first electrically conductive material, and a region comprising at least a part of the first portion and at least a part of the second portion. The scrubber outlet assembly comprises a barrier located inwardly of the inner surface of the pipe. The scrubber outlet assembly defines a flow path through the pipe along which washwater is flowable from a scrubber in use, and the barrier fluidically isolates the region from the flow path.
