HVAC system
There is provided a HVAC system comprising: a fluid circuit for conveying a refrigerant; a compressor for compressing the refrigerant; three heat exchangers defining an evaporator, an outdoor exchanger and a heat recovery exchanger provided along the fluid circuit; an expansion valve provided along the fluid circuit; and a receiver connected in parallel to the expansion valve, wherein a fill valve is located between the receiver and a connection upstream of the expansion valve and a drain valve is located between the receiver and a connection downstream of the expansion valve; wherein the fluid circuit comprises a plurality of valves which are configured to be controlled based on a selected operating mode such that at least one of the outdoor exchanger and the heat recovery exchanger is connected to a discharge line of the compressor and in series with one of the other heat exchangers which is connected to a suction line of the compressor, with the expansion valve disposed between the heat exchangers; wherein the fill and drain valves are configured to be controlled to store a volume of refrigerant in the receiver so as to provide an effective refrigerant charge in the fluid circuit that corresponds to the selected operating mode.
VEHICLE AIR-CONDITIONING DEVICE
There is disclosed a vehicle air-conditioning device in which a heating qualification by gas injection can sufficiently be obtained. The vehicle air-conditioning device comprises a compressor 2 which compresses a refrigerant, an air flow passage 3 through which air to be supplied into a vehicle interior flows, a radiator 4 disposed in the air flow passage to let the refrigerant radiate heat, a heat absorber 9 disposed in the air flow passage to let the refrigerant absorb heat, an outdoor heat exchanger 7 disposed outside the vehicle interior to let the refrigerant radiate or absorb heat, and a controller. The controller executes a heating mode in which the refrigerant discharged from the compressor 2 radiates heat in the radiator 4 and the refrigerant by which heat has been radiated is decompressed and then absorbs heat in the outdoor heat exchanger 7. The vehicle air-conditioning device comprises an injection circuit 40 which distributes a part of the refrigerant flowing out from the radiator 4 to return the refrigerant to the middle of compression by the compressor 2, and the injection circuit 40 has an expansion valve 30, and a discharge side heat exchanger 35 which performs heat exchange between the refrigerant decompressed by the expansion valve 30 and the refrigerant discharged from the compressor 2 before flowing into the radiator 4.
VEHICLE AIR-CONDITIONING DEVICE
There is disclosed a vehicle air-conditioning device in which a heating qualification by gas injection can sufficiently be obtained. The vehicle air-conditioning device comprises a compressor 2 which compresses a refrigerant, an air flow passage 3 through which air to be supplied into a vehicle interior flows, a radiator 4 disposed in the air flow passage to let the refrigerant radiate heat, a heat absorber 9 disposed in the air flow passage to let the refrigerant absorb heat, an outdoor heat exchanger 7 disposed outside the vehicle interior to let the refrigerant radiate or absorb heat, and a controller. The controller executes a heating mode in which the refrigerant discharged from the compressor 2 radiates heat in the radiator 4 and the refrigerant by which heat has been radiated is decompressed and then absorbs heat in the outdoor heat exchanger 7. The vehicle air-conditioning device comprises an injection circuit 40 which distributes a part of the refrigerant flowing out from the radiator 4 to return the refrigerant to the middle of compression by the compressor 2, and the injection circuit 40 has an expansion valve 30, and a discharge side heat exchanger 35 which performs heat exchange between the refrigerant decompressed by the expansion valve 30 and the refrigerant discharged from the compressor 2 before flowing into the radiator 4.
Efficient suction-line heat exchanger
A heat exchanger includes a shell, a coiled tube, and a swirler. The shell has an inlet and an outlet and forms a cavity. A first of a liquid refrigerant and a vapor refrigerant enters the inlet of the shell. The coiled tube is positioned within the cavity and is connected to an inlet tube from outside the shell and an outlet tube to outside the shell. A second of the liquid refrigerant and the vapor refrigerant enters the inlet tube of the coiled tube. The swirler is arranged adjacent the inlet of the shell and is dimensioned to distribute the first of the liquid refrigerant and the vapor refrigerant across the coiled tube.
METHOD FOR EXCHANGING HEAT IN VAPOR COMPRESSION HEAT TRANSFER SYSTEMS AND VAPOR COMPRESSION HEAT TRANSFER SYSTEMS COMPRISING INTERMEDIATE HEAT EXCHANGERS WITH DUAL-ROW EVAPORATORS OR CONDENSERS
A multi-step method is disclosed for exchanging heat in a vapor compression heat transfer system having a working fluid circulating therethrough. The method includes the step of circulating a working fluid comprising a fluoroolefin to an inlet of a first tube of an internal heat exchanger, through the internal heat exchanger and to an outlet thereof. Also disclosed are vapor compression heat transfer systems for exchanging heat. The systems include an evaporator, a compressor, a dual-row condenser and an intermediate heat exchanger having a first tube and a second tube. A disclosed system involves a dual-row condenser connected to the first and second intermediate heat exchanger tubes. Another disclosed system involves a dual-row evaporator connected to the first and second intermediate heat exchanger tubes.
METHOD FOR EXCHANGING HEAT IN VAPOR COMPRESSION HEAT TRANSFER SYSTEMS AND VAPOR COMPRESSION HEAT TRANSFER SYSTEMS COMPRISING INTERMEDIATE HEAT EXCHANGERS WITH DUAL-ROW EVAPORATORS OR CONDENSERS
A multi-step method is disclosed for exchanging heat in a vapor compression heat transfer system having a working fluid circulating therethrough. The method includes the step of circulating a working fluid comprising a fluoroolefin to an inlet of a first tube of an internal heat exchanger, through the internal heat exchanger and to an outlet thereof. Also disclosed are vapor compression heat transfer systems for exchanging heat. The systems include an evaporator, a compressor, a dual-row condenser and an intermediate heat exchanger having a first tube and a second tube. A disclosed system involves a dual-row condenser connected to the first and second intermediate heat exchanger tubes. Another disclosed system involves a dual-row evaporator connected to the first and second intermediate heat exchanger tubes.
COOLING SYSTEM WITH A HEAT PUMP FUNCTION BASED ON AN EXTENDABLE BASE SYSTEM AND MOTOR VEHICLE WITH A COOLING SYSTEM OF THIS TYPE
A cooling system with a heat pump function for a motor vehicle is described, includes a base system with a refrigerant compressor. A directly or indirectly working external heat exchanger which is arranged downstream of the refrigerant compressor. A directly or indirectly working first evaporator as part of an air conditioning device for the interior air conditioning of the motor vehicle, arranged down-stream of the external heat exchanger and preceded by a first expansion element. At least one second evaporator as part of a cooling device of an electric drive or storage unit, which evaporator is arranged fluidically parallel to the first evaporator, and which is preceded by a second expansion element. At least one low-pressure side collector arranged downstream of the first and second evaporators, or at least one high-pressure side collector arranged downstream of the external heat exchanger and upstream of the first and second evaporators.
Fluid temperature control system
A fluid temperature control system cools a fluid by means of a multiple refrigeration apparatus including a high-temperature-side refrigerator (100), a medium-temperature-side refrigerator (200) and a low-temperature-side refrigerator (300). The medium-temperature-side refrigerator (200) in the multiple refrigeration apparatus has a medium-temperature-side first evaporator (204) and a medium-temperature-side second evaporator (224). A high-temperature-side evaporator (104) of the high-temperature-side refrigerator (100) and a medium-temperature-side condenser (202) of the medium-temperature-side refrigerator (200) constitute a first cascade condenser (CC1). The medium-temperature-side second evaporator (224) of the medium-temperature-side refrigerator (200) and a low-temperature-side condenser (302) of the low-temperature-side refrigerator (300) constitute a second cascade condenser (CC2). The medium-temperature-side refrigerant and the low-temperature-side refrigerant are the same refrigerant. The fluid allowed to flow by a fluid flow apparatus is cooled by the medium-temperature-side first evaporator (204) of the medium-temperature-side refrigerator (200), and is then cooled by the low-temperature-side evaporator (304) of the low-temperature-side refrigerator (300).
THERMAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS
An evaporator includes a cold plate configured to extract heat from one or more heat loads in proximity to the evaporator. The cold plate includes a housing, and a plurality of channels disposed through the housing, with at least one of the plurality of channels being a meandered channel.
Thermal management systems
A thermal management system includes a refrigerant receiver having a refrigerant receiver outlet and a refrigerant receiver inlet, with the refrigerant receiver configured to store a refrigerant fluid, an ejector having a primary flow inlet coupled to receive the refrigerant fluid from the receiver, a secondary flow inlet and an outlet. The system also includes a liquid separator having an inlet, a vapor side outlet, and a liquid side outlet, an evaporator arrangement to extract heat from a heat load proximate or in contact with the evaporator arrangement, with the evaporator arrangement coupled to the ejector and the liquid separator, a closed-circuit refrigeration system having a closed-circuit fluid path including the refrigerant receiver, the evaporator arrangement, and the liquid separator, the closed-circuit refrigeration system configured to receive refrigerant fluid from the refrigerant receiver, and an open-circuit refrigeration system having an open-circuit fluid path that includes the receiver, the evaporator arrangement, and the liquid separator, that is configured to receive refrigerant fluid from the refrigerant receiver.
