The hot stamped component of the present invention is provided with a coating of aluminium or an aluminium alloy on at least one surface of the base steel, the coating is produced by interdiffusion between the base steel and a precoating of aluminium or aluminium alloy, and the coating has a thickness of 6 to 26 μm.
LIGHT WEIGHT COMPONENT WITH ACOUSTIC ATTENUATION AND METHOD OF MAKING
A method of making a light weight component is provided. The method including the steps of: forming a metallic foam core into a desired configuration; applying an external metallic shell to an exterior surface of the metallic foam core after it has been formed into the desired configuration; and attenuating the component to a desired frequency by forming a plurality of openings in the external metallic shell.
NUCLEAR FUEL CLADDINGS, PRODUCTION METHOD THEREOF AND USES OF SAME AGAINST OXIDATION/HYDRIDING
The invention relates to a nuclear fuel cladding comprising: i) a substrate containing a zirconium-based inner layer, optionally coated with at least one intermediate layer formed by at least one intermediate material selected from among tantalum, molybdenum, tungsten, niobium, vanadium, hafnium or the alloys thereof; and ii) at least one protective outer layer placed on the substrate and formed by a protective material selected from either chromium or an alloy of chromium. The nuclear fuel cladding produced using the method of the invention has improved resistance to oxidation/hydriding. The invention also relates to the method for the production of the nuclear fuel cladding by ion etching of the surface of the substrate and deposition of the outer layer on the substrate with a high power impulse magnetron sputtering method (HiPIMS), as well as to the use thereof to protect against oxidation and/or hydriding.
CONDUCTIVE MATERIAL FOR CONNECTION PARTS WHICH HAS EXCELLENT MINUTE SLIDE WEAR RESISTANCE
A conductive material for connection parts includes a matrix, a Cu—Sn alloy covering layer having a Cu content of 20 to 70 at % and an average thickness of from 0.2 to 3.0 μm, and a Sn covering layer having an average thickness of from 0.05 to 5.0 μm. The matrix is a copper alloy strip containing specified amounts of Cr and Zr or specified amounts of Fe and P, or a Cu—Zn alloy strip containing a specified amount of Zn. The Cu—Sn alloy covering layer and the Sn covering layer are formed in this order on a surface of the matrix.
HEAT-RESISTANT MEMBER PROVIDED WITH HEAT-SHIELDING COATING, AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SAME
Provided are a heat-resistant member provided with a heat-shielding coating suitable for stable manufacturing and excellent in heat-insulating, thermoresponsive and distortion accommodating properties, and a method for manufacturing the same. The heat-shielding coating includes a metallic portion formed of agglomerates of a plurality of metal particles, and inorganic compound particles dispersed in the metallic portion. The metal particles are diffusion-bonded each other, and the metallic portion and a base material of the heat-resistant member are diffusion-bonded each other. The manufacturing method includes the steps of depositing mixed particles of the metal particles and the inorganic compound particles on a surface of the base material in a film shape; resistance-heating the mixed particles by current-passing while pressurized in a thickness direction; diffusion-bonding the metal particles each other; and the metallic portion and the base material each other.
Methods to Prevent Whisker Growth in Metal Coatings
Whisker growth can be prevented in tin coatings by altering the tin film composition) or by modifying the tin/substrate interface.
