Reliability determination of electrode location data

Embodiments of the present disclosure include a system for determining an error associated with an electrode disposed on a medical device. The system comprises a processor and a memory storing instructions on a non-transitory computer-readable medium. The instructions are executable by the processor to receive an electrode signal from the electrode disposed on the medical device. The instructions are further executable by the processor to receive a plurality of other electrode signals from a plurality of other electrodes disposed on the medical device. The instructions are further executable by the processor to determine that the electrode signal received from the electrode disposed on the medical device is an outlier in relation to the plurality of other electrode signals from the plurality of other electrodes disposed on the medical device, based on a comparison between the electrode signal and the plurality of other electrode signals.

A bend information computation apparatus includes a generation unit and a bend information arithmetic operator. The generation unit generates suppression information that suppresses first information representing a variation in spectrum not derived from a bend of a detection target provided in a light guide on the basis of light source spectrum information. The bend information arithmetic operator operates second information representing a variation in spectrum derived from the bend on the basis of a spectrum of light guided by the light guide, operates third information representing a variation in spectrum derived only from the bend on the basis of the second information and the suppression information, and operates bend information on the basis of the third information.

Surgical sealing ports for use with surgical instruments for access of a natural body orifice are provided. In one exemplary embodiment, a surgical sealing port includes a seal housing and at least one retention element. The seal housing is configured to be at least partially disposed within a natural body orifice and defining a plurality of ports. The plurality of ports includes at least one first port configured to control the ingress and egress of fluid between an interior volume of the natural body orifice and an ambient environment, and at least one second port that is configured to form a seal around an instrument inserted therethrough. The at least one retention element is arranged on an exterior surface of the housing and configured to affix the housing to the natural body orifice. Methods for using the same are also provided.

Endoscope system, processor, calibration apparatus, and endoscope

An endoscope system includes an endoscope having a position/angle sensor and an amplifying circuit, a memory configured to store output error sensitivity data and a first wiring resistance value, and a processor including a signal processing circuit configured to process an output signal from the amplifying circuit. The signal processing circuit corrects an error of the output signal based on a value obtained by multiplying a difference between the first wiring resistance value and a processor wiring resistance value by the output error sensitivity data.

Intravascular ultrasound imaging

An extension cable is adapted for use in an intravascular ultrasound system. It has a first connector, for connecting to a catheter and a second connector for connecting to a patient interface module. A cable arrangement provides power transmission, data transmission and data signal processing (amplification or regeneration) between the first and second connectors. The extension cable enables sterility to be maintained in a workflow in a time efficient and easy manner as the catheter to extension cable connection may remain in a sterile environment.

Automated graphical presentation of electrophysiological parameters

A medical apparatus includes a probe configured for insertion into a body of a patient. The probe includes electrodes configured to contact tissue of a region within the body. The apparatus further includes a display screen, a position-tracking system configured to acquire position coordinates of the electrodes within the body, and a processor. The processor is configured to acquire electrophysiological signals from the electrodes while they are held stationary in the region, extract electrophysiological parameters from the signals, compute a measure of consistency of the parameters, and render to the display screen a three-dimensional (3D) map of the tissue while superimposing on the map, responsively to the position coordinates, a visual indication of the extracted parameters at the locations for which the measure of consistency satisfied a consistency criterion, and automatically discarding from the map the parameters for which the measure of consistency did not satisfy the consistency criterion.
