Single use medical devices

A single use medical device can include a single use medical device module configured for use in a medical procedure. The single use medical device can also include an electronic component having a one-time programmable (OTP) component that is configured to render the single use medical device module unusable after being used in the medical procedure in the subject. The single use medical device can also include a self-sacrificing module (SSM) that is configured to self-destruct and render the single use medical device unusable upon being cleaned or sterilized after being used in the medical procedure in the subject. The SSM can be operably coupled with a system controller module (SCM), which can read the state of the SSM and determine whether or not the medical device has undergone cleaning or sterilization.

The disclosed technology is directed to an endoscope comprises a first adhesive layer disposed on a surface of an outer cladding member and having at least a portion exposed outwardly. A display portion includes a second adhesive layer disposed on a portion of the outer cladding member which is covered with the first adhesive layer. The second adhesive layer having at least a portion which is to be exposed outwardly deteriorates due to frequent cleaning, disinfecting, and/or sterilizing. The second adhesive includes a color different from the first adhesive layer. The display portion is defined by a color that is different from a color of the outer cladding member. The display portion includes characters or signs made of the second adhesive layer.

CONTROL DEVICE, MEDICAL DEVICE, AND MEDICAL DEVICE SYSTEM

The present disclosure relates to a control device, a medical device, and a medical device system that enable to provide a user who tries to connect the medical device to the control device with user support information including a result of compatibility determination between the devices.

A control device according to one aspect of the present disclosure is provided with a connector joint to which a connector unit provided on a cable extending from a medical device is connected, a communication unit that performs radio communication with the connector unit by proximity radio communication, and a notification unit that notifies a user of user support information based on information from the medical device received by the communication unit. The present disclosure is applicable to an endoscopic surgical system, for example.

Provided is a disposable medical endoscope with a handle housing for gripping and/or operating the endoscope and/or for receiving functional components. A shaft mechanically connects the handle housing to the head along a longitudinal axis and the head has an image recording means for recording an image of a viewing region. The handle housing has a connection device with a clamping element or a plurality of clamping elements and a tensioning element. The clamping element(s) allow(s) the shaft to be inserted into the connection device in a mounting position of the tensioning element. The tensioning element moves the clamping element or the clamping elements mechanically to the shaft in a fastening position, in such a way that the shaft is received in a mechanically fixed manner on the handle housing by means of a force fit or form fit between the clamping element or clamping elements and the shaft.

IMAGING ENDOSCOPE SYSTEM AND ASSOCIATED METHODS

An imaging endoscopy system is disclosed, having a base unit, a hand controller, an umbilical section releasably connecting the base unit and the hand controller and an insertion section. The insertion section has a proximal end connected to the hand controller and a distal end for insertion into a subject, the distal end having a steering section and a distal tip. The hand controller includes at least one steering control for controlling bending of the steering section, and wherein the distal tip includes a light source for illumination of a region of tissue of interest and an imaging chip for imaging the region of tissue of interest. The hand controller, umbilical section and insertion section are single use disposable. The base unit is configured to be re-usable.

In an endoscope device, a data reading unit reads measurement correction data corresponding to a type of an optical adapter from a first memory. A still image file generating unit generates a still image file including image data when moving image recording processing is performed. A data writing unit writes the measurement correction data in the still image file. A moving image file generating unit generates a moving image file including the image data when the moving image recording processing is performed. A file recording unit causes the still image file in which the measurement correction data is written, and the moving image file to be associated with each other and to be recorded in a second memory.
