An insertion portion of an endoscope including a distal end portion including: an exterior surface, a first channel including a first opening on the exterior surface, and a second channel including a second opening on the exterior surface and a third opening on the first channel. An elongated object is inserted into the first channel. A rigid portion is provided at a distal end of the first elongated object. The rigid portion including: an outer peripheral surface, and a first surface recessed from the outer peripheral surface of the rigid portion. Wherein both of the outer peripheral surface and the first surface are exposed within the third opening.

Steerable instrument comprising a cilindrical diameter adaptation section

A steerable instrument for endoscopic and/or invasive type of applications, such as in surgery, which has an elongated tubular body having a proximal end part with a first actuation flexible zone having a first diameter and a distal end part having a first distal flexible zone having a second diameter that is different from the first diameter. A cylindrical diameter adaptation section is arranged to connect the proximal end part to the distal end part such that a flexion in a radial direction relative to a longitudinal center axis of the longitudinal tubular body of the first actuation flexible zone results in an amplified or attenuated flexion of the first distal flexible zone.

MOUNTING STRUCTURE FOR ENDOSCOPE FRONT-END PIECE

The present disclosure provides a mounting structure for an endoscope front-end piece, including a front-end piece, a pull rod, and an adjustment mechanism. The front-end piece includes a front end clamped onto a port of an endoscope tube, and a rear end extended into the endoscope tube; a sealant groove is formed in a portion of the front-end piece contacting an inner wall of the endoscope tube; the pull rod includes a front end connected to the front-end piece, and a rear end extended into an endoscope tube socket; and the adjustment mechanism is located in the endoscope tube socket, and is capable of both compressing the endoscope tube socket and tensioning the pull rod through threaded transmission, thereby allowing the front-end piece to retain on the port of the endoscope tube, and adjusting a mounting gap and a mounting pressure. The structure realizes gapless mounting of the front-end piece.

Medical device and method of manufacture yielding medical devices with consistent surface features

A medical scope device such as an endoscope is produced using a cast aluminum process including a molten casting aluminum alloy including a maximum of 0.2 - 0.3% Si and at least 5% Zn. The process includes providing an investment casting mold, casting the aluminum alloy in the mold to create a component and removing the mold from the component, post-machining the component to meet a desired specification, and after post-machining the component, performing surface finishing, such as centrifugal barrel finishing (CBF) sufficient to remove impurities on casting surfaces by 2 - 3 mils, then coating the component with a micro-crystalline aluminum anodic coating of at least 0.5 mil thickness. A medical scope and product-by-process is also provided employing such techniques.

Endoscope

A video endoscope including an operating handle; an insertion tube extending distally from the operating handle; a camera at the distal end of the insertion tube; a working channel extending from the housing to the distal end of the insertion tube; and control cables; the operating handle including: a housing; a control lever comprising a wall and trunnions extending laterally from the wall, the wall comprising a control lever immobilization aperture; a first wall comprising a first support aperture and a first immobilization aperture; a second wall comprising a second support aperture, the first support aperture and the second support aperture receiving the trunnions to facilitate rotation of the control lever, and the control lever immobilization aperture and the first immobilization aperture being alignable to receive a tool and thereby immobilize the control lever in a neutral position during attachment of the control cables to the control lever.
