Augmenting real-time views of a patient with three-dimensional (3D) data. In one embodiment, a method may include identifying 3D data for a patient with the 3D data including an outer layer and multiple inner layers, determining virtual morphometric measurements of the outer layer from the 3D data, registering a real-time position of the outer layer of the patient in a 3D space, determining real-time morphometric measurements of the outer layer of the patient, automatically registering the position of the outer layer from the 3D data to align with the registered real-time position of the outer layer of the patient in the 3D space using the virtual morphometric measurements and using the real-time morphometric measurements, and displaying, in an augmented reality (AR) headset, one of the inner layers from the 3D data projected onto real-time views of the outer layer of the patient.

ADAPTIVE ILLUMINATION APPARATUS, METHOD, AND APPLICATIONS
20230039098 · 2023-02-09 ·

A system and method for adaptive illumination, the imaging system comprising an excitation source having a modulator, which generates a pulse intensity pattern having a first wavelength when the excitation source receives a modulation pattern. The modulation pattern is a data sequence of a structural image of a sample. An amplifier of the imaging system is configured to receive and amplify the pulse intensity pattern from the modulator. A frequency shift mechanism of the imaging system shifts the first wavelength of the pulse intensity pattern to a second wavelength. A laser scanning microscope of the imaging system receives the pulse intensity pattern having the second wavelength.

FLEXIBLE INSTRUMENT LOCALIZATION FROM BOTH REMOTE AND ELONGATION SENSORS

A system and method of tracking a flexible elongate instrument within a patient is disclosed herein. The system is configured to obtain remote localization measurement data of the flexible elongate instrument and obtain elongation measurement data of the flexible elongate instrument. This data is combined and transformed to a coordinate reference frame to produce a localization of the flexible elongate instrument that is more accurate than the remote localization measurements or elongation measurement data alone. The combined localization is then provided to a localization consumer.
