Thermal therapy with dynamic anatomical boundaries using MRI-based temperature uncertainty maps

Temperature uncertainty maps are calculated based on a rolling window of temperature maps, which is updated as new temperature maps are generated. The rolling window mitigates the effect of transient motion during a thermal therapy procedure. A clinician or an automated control system can then update a portion of an anatomical boundary or the thermal therapy applicator center based on the temperature uncertainty map.

Non-invasive non-contact system and method for measuring health parameters

A system and method for measuring health parameters of a subject is disclosed. The system and method are based on a mirror; an image acquisition unit configured with the mirror, and comprising a thermal sensor for capturing thermal images or videos of a body part of the subject; and a processing unit to receive data packets associated with the captured thermal images or videos from the image acquisition unit to identify a region of interest of the body part in each frame of the captured thermal images and videos. Further, the processing unit extracts attributes associated with a heat intensity variation from the identified region of interest region, and compares the extracted attributes with a predetermined set of reference data to measure risk scores associated with the health parameters of the subject based on the comparison. The measured risk scores are displayed by a display unit.

Handheld devices for wound assessment using multi-modal imaging

Multi-modal, portable, handheld devices for tissue assessment (e.g., wound assessment) are provided, as are methods of fabricating and methods of using the same. The devices can be used for virtual medicine (VM)-based wound management, such as VM-based diabetic foot triage (DFT) and management. The device can be used to take physiological measurements of temperature and/or tissue oxygenation of a wound to assess the wound, for example in a remote setting environment. The device can also be used to provide therapy for tissue repair and/or wound healing, apart from the multi-modal imaging of the tissue surface of the patient. For example, light therapy, such as low-level light therapy (LLLT) can be provided via one or more light emitting diodes (LEDs) and/or laser diodes.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DETERMINING A REGION OF INTEREST IN MEDICAL IMAGING

Systems and methods for generating a 3D model is provided. The methods may include receiving target information relating to the subject acquired by an information acquisition component and generate the 3D model of the subject based on the target information. The target information may include a plurality of images of the subject. The subject may be supported by a scanning table, and the information acquisition component may include a plurality of cameras mounted on a gantry of a medical imaging device. The plurality of cameras may be configured to acquire the plurality of images of the subject from multiple perspectives, and at least one of the plurality of cameras may be configured to acquire an image of a body side of the subject.

A grippable haptic device includes an input device that receives a user input, a 9-axis sensor that detects movement of a hand of the user, a vibrator that provides a tactile sensation to the user, and a motion sensor that detects whether the user grips the grippable haptic device. An insole-type haptic device includes an input device that receives a user input, a plurality of 9-axis sensors that detect movement of a foot of the user, a vibrator that provides a tactile sensation to a sole of the foot of the user, and a plurality of pressure sensors that are distributed across the insole-type haptic device and measure a pressure exerted at each position of the sole of the user.

Method and apparatus for indicating the emergence of an ulcer

A method of monitoring a patient's foot forms a thermogram of the sole of at least one foot of the patient, and determines whether the thermogram presents at least one of a plurality of prescribed patterns. The method also compares the thermogram against a prior thermogram of the same foot, and produces output information indicating the emergence of an ulcer on a given portion on the at least one foot as a function of 1) whether the thermogram is determined to present the at least one pattern, and 2) the comparison with the prior thermogram, which shows non-ulcerated tissue at the given location.

System and method for self monitoring for risk factors for the development of foot ulcerations in a population of people with diabetes
