Multi-band low profile radio antenna

Disclosed is a radio antenna comprising a substrate of dielectric material; a ground plane of electrically conductive material on a first face of the substrate; a resonator for converting an incident electrical signal into an electromagnetic wave and for resonating at at least two different resonant frequencies. The resonator comprises at least three elements, each in the form of strips of conductive material and arranged on a second face of the substrate opposite the first face. A second element is electrically connected to the ground plane by means of a via passing through the substrate at a first end of the corresponding strip, forms an extension of the first element, and is electrically connected directly to the first element at a second end of said strip which is opposite the first end.

Capsule with blood detecting sensor

A medical capsule is equipped with a sensor device having light emitting and light receiving elements. The sensor device can detect blood on the basis of light absorption properties of the blood. The capsule has a casing forming a recess or gap at its outer surface. The recess has a pre-selected width which represents a fixed measuring track between the light emitting and light receiving elements being arranged at opposing sides of the recess or gap when seen in its width direction. The medical capsule also has a shielding plate/layer/membrane arranged at least at or near the bottom of the recess or gap and extending along the width direction of the recess or gap preferably to exceed the recess at both sides into its width direction to prohibit emitted light from bypassing the recess via the casing material of the capsule.

METHODS AND SYSTEMS TO MEASURE GASTROINTESTINAL MOTILITY BASED ON A BALLOON BASED SYSTEM
20220346701 · 2022-11-03 ·

The present invention is directed to a balloon based system and method for measuring gastrointestinal motility. The balloon can be a stand-alone balloon with pressure sensing capabilities or the balloon can be deployed as a component of a catheter-based system. The balloon can be deployed in an uninflated state and can be inflated with fluid such as air, water, or other biocompatible fluid while disposed within the gastrointestinal tract. The pressure sensor can take the form of a pressure sensor disposed within the balloon or disposed on a surface of the balloon. Additional, sensors can also be applied to monitor other conditions, function, or disease state.

Capsule endoscopic receiving device, capsule endoscope system including the same, and operating method of capsule endoscopic receiving device

Provided are a capsule endoscopic receiving device, a capsule endoscope system including the same, and an operating method of the capsule endoscopic receiving device, the capsule endoscopic receiving device including an analog front end configured to receive a preamble from one receiving electrode pair from among a plurality of receiving electrodes, a valid signal detection circuit configured to compare a reference voltage with input data generated on a basis of a voltage level of the preamble, and a preamble processor configured to select a final electrode pair configured to receive the image data on a basis of a correlation value of the preamble and a comparison result of the input data and the reference voltage. According to the inventive concept, stability of receiving image data may be secured by selecting an optimal receiving electrode pair.

Fluorescence lifetime spectroscopy based capsule endoscopy

An ingestible capsule for detecting cancerous and non-cancerous tissues in a colon of patient is disclosed. The capsule has a radiation source integrated into the capsule body for illuminating tissues within a colon of the patient. Tissues of the colon are irradiated with radiation from the radiation source to elicit a fluorescence response, and a photon detector measures photons of the fluorescence response. Intensity and fluorescence lifetime of the fluorescence response is determined based on measured photons. A system employing the capsule is configured to distinguish cancerous and non-cancerous tissues based on the determined fluorescence lifetime of the fluorescence response.
