Devices and methods to perform measurements of body analytes, like glucose, using a bone implant and/or a dental implant and/or a jawbone implant and an analyte measuring component. The dental implant can have a protruding component that protrudes to the oral cavity for many years and therefore enable long-term handling of the analyte measuring component and long-term monitoring of the analyte. The new device enables for example, to replace at least part of the analyte measuring component, to replace materials of the analyte measuring component and the energy source of the device without surgery.

Biodegradable and Multifunctional Neural Block Devices

Embodiments relate to a crosslinked citrate-based elastomer catheter that is biodegradable and kink resistant. Embodiments of the crosslinked citrate-based elastomer material swells when surrounded by fluid (body fluid) so as to anchor the catheter to tissue but not anchor it so much that movement or removal will cause tissue damage. The catheter can be used as a component to a peripheral nerve block device, for example. Embodiments of the catheter can include embedding biodegradable sensors, moieties, shape memory material, etc. to monitor and modulate functions of the catheter and/or peripheral nerve block.

ANASTOMOTIC LEAKAGE SENSOR AND ANALYSIS OF PREDICTIVE PARAMETERS FOR DETECTING AN ANASTOMOTIC LEAKAGE

A system for detecting an anastomotic leak includes a sensor assembly implanted at an anastomosis site. The system also includes a reader configured to receive sensor signals from the sensor assembly and a computing device configured to communicate with the reader. The computing device may be configured to analyze the sensor signals to determine a status of the anastomosis site.

Thread-based integrated functional devices

A composite thread includes first and second segments joined to each other. The first segment comprises a functional segment that interacts with an environment of the thread. The second segment communicates information between the first segment and a point external to said composite thread.

DEVICES FOR TESTING DISTAL COLONIC AND ANORECTAL FUNCTION

A pellet for testing intestinal and anorectal function. In one embodiment of a system of the present disclosure, the system comprises a pellet comprising a balloon or bag, and a fill tube configured to be removably coupled to the pellet, the fill tube configured to permit selective filling of the balloon or bag

SYSTEMS FOR MEASURING PATIENT PHYSIOLOGIC PARAMETERS

Provided herein is a sensor assembly including a printed circuit board including a top surface, a bottom surface and one or more sensing elements for measuring a physiologic parameter of a patient, the one or more sensing elements disposed on the top surface. The sensor assembly including an antenna coupled to the printed circuit board, the antenna coupled to the bottom surface of the printed circuit board and extending through an opening in the printed circuit board and outwardly from the top surface. The sensor assembly including a power source disposed below the printed circuit board and coupled to the printed circuit board and a case at least partially enclosing the printed circuit board, antenna, and power source, wherein the case includes a sensing opening configured to allow fluid to contact the one or more sensing element.

Mandibular repositioning devices have a mandibular piece having a first teeth covering and having a housing proximate each of a left molar portion and a right molar portion, a protrusive flange extending cranially from each housing, and a maxillary piece having a second teeth covering and having a housing proximate each of a left molar portion and a right molar portion. Each housing encloses a power source electrically connected an on-board circuit board and the housings of the maxillary piece further have the power source electrically connected to a motor operatively connected to a drive for anterior and posterior movements of the mandibular piece. The maxillary piece sits on the mandibular piece with the driver operatively engaged with the protrusive flange. The protrusive flange has a concavely-shaped anterior surface mated to a convexly-shaped head of the driver shaped to match the concavely-shaped anterior surface of the protrusive flange.
