20210128050 · 2021-05-06 ·

A method of neurohydrodissection for reducing a perception of pain in a patient is disclosed. The method comprises the step of physically inspecting a patient and locating a first compression site of a nerve of the patient where the nerve passes through a tissue and is inflamed. The method comprises the step of imaging the patient at the first compression site. The method comprises the step of inserting a syringe at the first compression site, wherein while the first compression site is being imaged, guiding the syringe to an intersection between the nerve and the tissue, injecting a solution with the syringe at the intersection and dissecting the nerve from the tissue.

STIMULATION SYSTEM

A method for facilitating acquisition of a motor evoked potential (MEP) may include facilitating an MEP stimulation sequence to obtain the MEP. The facilitating may include delivering a first stimulation pulse to one or more peripheral nerves of a patient. The method may also include delivering, after the facilitating, the MEP stimulation sequence to one or more cranial nerves of the patient to obtain the MEP. The method may also include determining, based on the MEP, a physiological response has occurred. The method may also include indicating that the physiological response has occurred. The facilitating may reduce an intensity of the train of stimulation pulses of the MEP stimulation sequence, limit movement of the patient to the region of interest during the delivery of the MEP stimulation, and improve an accuracy of determining that the physiological response has occurred.

The present invention relates to a device for performing a tVNS treatment having at least one electrode for generating a stimulation pulse, with the device having at least one detection means that is configured to detect one or more parameter values, and with the device having a control or regulation unit that is suitable to set one or more parameters of the stimulation pulse delivered by the electrode in dependence on the detected parameter value or values.

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE-BASED ROBOTIC SYSTEM FOR PHYSICAL THERAPY
20210060790 · 2021-03-04 ·

A robotic system includes retrieval of a priori stimulus based on an input that indicates a current health state and a target health state of a user. A set of test stimuli specific for the user is determined and a stimulus device is controlled to provide the set of test stimuli to the user. A first set of responses within the body of the user and a second set of responses discernible on the body of the user are determined, and a set of stimulus parameters for the stimulus device is calibrated based on the combination of the first set of responses, the second set of responses, the current health state, the target health state, and a trained AI-based system. A new stimulus is applied to a portion of the body of the user that shifts a condition of the user from the current health state towards the target health state.

Numerous aspects of communication devices, methods, and systems are described in this application. One aspect is an apparatus comprising a plurality of energy generators arrangeable on or adjacent skin. Each energy generator of the plurality of energy generators may be operable to output a plurality of different energy types in a signal direction toward the skin. The plurality of energy generators may be operable to communicate with nerves associated with the skin when arranged on or adjacent the skin by outputting an energy signal in the signal direction with one or more energy types of the plurality of different energy types.

Method and device for quantification of neuromuscular stimulations due to RF-currents

A two-part NMS-test bench is provided with which instruments, generator voltages, and surgery modes can be evaluated with regard to neuromuscular stimulations. By separating the NMS-test bench in a first part for application of the instrument and in the second part for evaluation of the physiological effect on nerves, a measurement free of artifacts is possible. The spatial and timely separation of the RF-application from the recording of the compound action potentials makes RF-disturbances ineffective. The electrical signals gained in the instrument test chamber can be pre-processed. The recorded electrical signals emitted from the instrument can be evaluated at the nerve model an arbitrary number of times. The variance involved with the recording of compound action potentials during direct use of the instrument can thus be minimized. The separated test of the signals at the nerve model avoids thermal damage of a prepared nerve and falsification of measurement results.

Peripheral neural interface via nerve regeneration to distal tissues

At least partial function of a human limb is restored by surgically removing at least a portion of an injured or diseased human limb from a surgical site of an individual and transplanting a selected muscle into the remaining biological body of the individual, followed by contacting the transplanted selected muscle, or an associated nerve, with an electrode, to thereby control a device, such as a prosthetic limb, linked to the electrode. Simulating proprioceptive sensory feedback from a device includes mechanically linking at least one pair of agonist and antagonist muscles, wherein a nerve innervates each muscle, and supporting each pair with a support, whereby contraction of the agonist muscle of each pair will cause extension of the paired antagonist muscle. An electrode is implanted in a muscle of each pair and electrically connected to a motor controller of the device, thereby simulating proprioceptive sensory feedback from the device.
