Systems and methods for performing a Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus (HGN) test. An HGN test device having a harness configured to be worn by a subject, a moveable stimulus controlled by a computing device, and a recording device for recording the eyes of the subject during the administration of the HGN test. More specifically, the HGN device has a movable armature or an arm with a stimulus there attached which follows a track. The recording may be stored in the computing device or transmitted to a remote system for storage.

APPARATUS FOR AND METHOD OF MEASURING INTRACRANIAL DYNAMICS
20240130663 · 2024-04-25 ·

An apparatus for measuring intracranial dynamics comprises the at least one sensing device (100): an electroencephalo-graphic electrode arrangement, which senses direct-current electroencephalographic signals from the brain, an optic measurement Marrangement (120), which directs optic radiation toward the brain through the cranium, and receives the optic radiation reflected and/or scattered therefrom, and/or a capacitive sensor arrangement (130), which senses electric potential signals of the head. The apparatus additionally comprises a data processing arrangement (150), which receives electric signals from the at least one sensing device (100), and determine data on at least one of the following dynamics: glymphatic activity, water within the cranium, brain tissue movements, water and/or electrolyte movements and intracranial pressure based on said electric signals from the at least one sensing device (100). The data processing arrangement (150) then outputs at least one piece of the data on the dynamics through a user interface (152).

Determining nerve location relative to electrodes

An implantable nerve stimulator is implanted in a patient near a nerve target. The implantable nerve stimulator has a plurality of electrodes through which stimulation is provided to the nerve target. The relative location of the nerve target and the electrodes may be determined by applying stimulation to the nerves via each of the electrodes, determining an effect of the stimulation for each of the electrodes, and mapping a location of the nerve relative to the electrodes based on the effect of the stimulation for each of the electrodes.

VAGUS NERVE STIMULATION AND MONITORING

Vagus nerve stimulation effective in treating mood disorders include application of bursts of vagus nerve stimulation pulses having an average inter-burst duration and an average inter-pulse duration within selected intervals. The effectiveness of test agents in treating mood disorders can be determined by monitoring the firing pattern induced by the test agents on the vagus nerve. Test agents capable of inducing a firing pattern of vagus nerve pulses with average inter-burst duration and average inter-pulse duration within the selected intervals are identified as useful in treating a mood disorder.

Presentation Measure Using Neurographics

Presentation of materials such as advertising and marketing materials is evaluated and/or dynamically modified using neurographical data. User images, video, and audio, etc. are analyzed when a user is presented with stimulus materials. User data such as a user image is matched with a neurographical aggregate to identify user information and emotional state. The neurographical aggregate identifies actions and/or additional stimulus material for presentation to the user. User information and emotional state also allow evaluation of the presented materials.

A method for fast high-resolution deep photoacoustic tomography of action potentials in brains is provided herein. The method may utilize a high-speed, high-spatial-resolution, deep-penetration photoacoustic computed tomography (PACT) system for real-time imaging of action potentials.

Methods and apparatus for adjusting neurostimulation intensity using evoked responses

A neurostimulation system provides for capture verification and stimulation intensity adjustment to ensure effectiveness of vagus nerve stimulation in modulating one or more target functions in a patient. In various embodiments, stimulation is applied to the vagus nerve, and evoked responses are detected to verify that the stimulation captures the vagus nerve and to adjust one or more stimulation parameters that control the stimulation intensity.
