POLYURETDIONE-CONTAINING RESIN BLEND COMPOSITIONS
The present invention provides a reaction mixture comprising a blend of a first isocyanate-based uretdione-containing resin and a second isocyanate-based uretdione-containing resin, a neutralized polyol and a tertiary amine catalyst, and optionally, an additive package selected from the group consisting of flow control additives, pigments (colorants), wetting agents, and solvents, wherein the first isocyanate and the second isocyanate are different. The first isocyanate-based uretdione-containing resin and the second isocyanate-based uretdione-containing resin may be cold blended or hot blended. Coatings, adhesives, castings, composites, and sealants made from hot blended formulations exhibit superior performance over those made from cold blended formulations.

A method of manufacturing a polymerizable composition for an optical material according to the present invention includes a step of mixing an iso(thio)cyanate compound (A1) and an organic coloring matter (B), so as to obtain a mixed solution a, a step of mixing the mixed solution a, an ultraviolet absorbing agent (D), and an iso(thio)cyanate compound (A2) which is identical to or different from the iso(thio)cyanate compound (A1), so as to obtain a mixed solution b, and a step of mixing a mixed solution b and an active hydrogen compound (C).
Curable liquid compositions
A curable liquid composition, such as an alkyd paint or resin, contains a binder curable by oxidative crosslinking, a siccative compound for catalyzing oxidative crosslinking of the binder, and a matting agent. The matting agent is a precipitated silica, with a surface area, measured by BET, of 250 m.sup.2/g or less, a precipitated metal silicate such as Ca, Mg or Al silicate, or a mixture, and may be amorphous in nature. The siccative compound is a transition metal chelate complex comprising a ligand, such as an iron- or a manganese-based chelate complex. The compositions are capable of oxidative curing, within acceptable times, to form a cured solid, such as a coating, having a matt finish.

The present invention relates to the field of environmentally oxidative drying inks for wet offset printing processes using environmentally friendly fountain solutions or environmentally friendly fountain concentrates. In particular, the invention related to a kit comprising an environmentally friendly fountain solution or environmentally friendly fountain concentrate and an environmentally friendly oxidative drying ink for wet offset printing processes, wherein said oxidative drying ink comprises at least one oxidative drying varnish and one or more neutral manganese complex compounds and wherein said fountain solution or fountain solution concentratee comprises one or more manganese (II) salts of a C.sub.1-C.sub.3 carboxylic acid.
