System for arterial blood gas testing
A system for facilitating arterial blood gas (ABG) sampling. The system includes a main part, a first plurality of pulse sensors attached in a row on an inner surface of the main part, a first plurality of lights attached in a row on an external surface of the main part, a first opening on the main part adjacent to the first plurality of pulse sensors, and a processor. The processor is configured to receive a first plurality of radial pulse intensities from the first plurality of pulse sensors, determine a highest radial pulse intensity among the first plurality of radial pulse intensities, and turn on a light from the first plurality of lights associated with the highest pulse intensity among the first plurality of radial pulse intensities.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR PREDICTING GERIATRIC SYNDROMES USING FOOT CHARACTERISTICS AND BALANCE CHARACTERISTICS
The method and system for predicting geriatric syndrome according to the present invention predicts a risk degree of geriatric syndrome of a subject based on the foot depth image and plantar pressure data acquiring the foot depth image and the plantar pressure data.
Finger inserts for a nailfold imaging device
A finger insert for use with a nailfold imaging device includes a housing to receive the user's finger and an immersion substance (e.g., immersion oil), and a deformable pad that holds the user's finger in place during imaging, as well as prevent bubble formation in the substance. The housing includes a transparent wall to facilitate imaging of the finger. The transparent wall includes multiple angled portions that prevent or reduce contact between the nailfold and the wall, to ensure sufficient blood flow through the nailfold region for imaging.
METHOD AND SYSTEM OF DETECTING CLIPPING OF AN OCT IMAGE
Aspects of the present invention relate to a method of detecting clipping of retinal image content in an optical coherence tomography, OCT, image of a patient’s retina. The method comprises detecting a boundary of the retinal image content in the OCT image and calculating a distance between the boundary and an edge of the OCT image. The method further comprises determining if clipping of the retinal image content in the OCT image has occurred by comparing the calculated distance between the boundary and the edge of the OCT image with a clipping threshold distance. Clipping of the retinal image content is determined to have occurred when the calculated distance between the boundary and the edge of the OCT image is equal to, or less than, the clipping threshold distance.
Program, computer apparatus, and system for assessing muscle tone, and muscle tone assessment method
The present invention provides a program capable of assessing the muscle tone of the exerciser based on the captured images of the posture of the exerciser. The above object is achieved by a program causing a computer apparatus to execute assessment of muscle tone of a client, the program causing the computer apparatus to function as: an image capturer that captures an image of a posture of the client in a steady state and/or an image of a posture of the client in a moving state; and an assessor that assesses the muscle tone of the client based on a position of a prescribed body site of the client, an inclination of the prescribed body site of the client, and/or positional relationships among a plurality of prescribed body sites in the image captured by the image capturer.
HEADSET SYSTEM
Arrangements described herein relate to a headset system and a method to manufacturing the headset system, the headset system including a headset configured to lay on top of a surface and to support a head of a subject when the subject is in a supine position or a reclined position, at least one probe adjustment mechanism, and a probe coupled to the at least one probe adjustment mechanism and configured to emit acoustic energy.
Moveable MRI system RF coil arrangement
Apparatus for imaging during surgical procedures includes an operating room for the surgical procedure and an MRI for obtaining images periodically through the surgical procedure by moving the magnet up to the table. The magnet wire is formed of a superconducting material such as magnesium di-boride or Niobium-Titanium which is cooled by a vacuum cryocooling system to superconductivity without use of liquid helium. The magnet weighs less than 1 to 2 tonne and has a floor area in the range 15 to 35 sq feet so that it can be carried on the floor by a support system having an air cushion covering the base area of the magnet having side skirts so as to spread the weight over the entire base area. The magnet remains in the room during surgery and is powered off to turn off the magnetic field when in the second position remote from the table.
PATIENT POSITIONING SUPPORT APPARATUS WITH FAIL-SAFE CONNECTOR ATTACHMENT MECHANISM
A patient support apparatus for supporting a patient in a prone position during a surgical procedure is provided, including an open fixed frame suspended above a floor and a pair of spaced opposed radially sliding joints cooperating with the frame, each joint including a virtual pivot point and an arc of motion spaced from the virtual pivot point, the joints being movable along the arc providing a pivot ship mechanism for a pair of pelvic pads attached to the joints. A base for supporting and suspending a patient support structure above the floor, for supporting a patient during a surgical procedure, the base including a pair of spaced opposed vertical translation subassemblies reversibly attachable to a patient support structure, a cross-bar, and a rotation subassembly having two degrees of rotational freedom; wherein a location of each vertical translation subassembly is substantially constant during operation of the patient support structure.
Method and system for in-vivo, and non-invasive measurement of metabolite levels
Embodiments of a compact portable nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) device are described which generally include a housing that provides a magnetic shield; an axisymmetric permanent magnet assembly in the housing and having a bore, a plurality of magnetic elements that together provide a well confined axisymmetric magnetization for generating a near-homogenous magnetic dipole field B.sub.0 directed along a longitudinal axis and providing a sample cavity for receiving a sample, and high magnetic permeability soft steel poles to improve field uniformity: a shimming assembly with coils disposed at the longitudinal axis for spatially correcting the near homogenous magnetic field B.sub.0; and a spectrometer having a control unit for measuring a metabolite in the sample by applying magnetic stimulus pulses to the sample, measuring free induction delay signals generated by an ensemble of hydrogen protons within the sample; and suppressing a water signal by using a dephasing gradient with frequency selective suppression.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR DETECTING AND THERAPEUTICALLY MONITORING KNEE LIGAMENT INJURIES
According to the method of the invention, a translational movement of the tibia of a patient is caused by a first motor (9b) for moving a thrust member (9a) of the patient's calf, and is measured by a first sensor (15a) located on the Tibial Tuberosity, Anterior (TTA). The tibia is caused to rotate by a second motor (12) for rotating a foot support (11b) of the patient, and is measured by a second sensor (14b) located as close as possible to the TTA. The respective operations of the first motor (9b) and of the second motor (12) are correlated by a control member, by being mutually controlled according to pre-set and reproducible force models.
